Has anyone had any success with checks from the new processor that FTP is using. I just received a check and I want to make sure it won't bounce.

Here is a very relevant article that will be of interest to everyone reading this thread:

"Where's my damn money?"

Thanks for the article Mike H.

It seems to apply mostly to sportsbooks. He says its technically illegal for you to do business with these sportsbook companies(the 1960 wire act). But its not illegal for me to play poker at FTP its only illegal for my US bank to knowingly do business with FTP.

I'm hoping this distinction means that processors of poker sites checks should have a little less DOJ attention. It seems that FTP got caught up with a processor involved with sportsbooks. I'm just hoping that poker sites can steer clear of these processors and avoid these troubles in future. If not I'm not feeling to good about my profession or my country (time to jump ship?)

7/11 request
7/12 appoved
8/1 no sign of my check

thanks, great article.

However, it's incredibly frustrating that these sites don't have dozens of payment processing options lined up as backups for the obvious problems that they are going to experience.

they make millions and millions, there is no excuse.

The person who wrote that does not understand the legal differences between SPORTSBOOKS and pure poker sites. Technically it is not illegal for a bank to work directly with FTP (depending on the State), but obviously they would never do that. Using a third party processor (who is not sportsbook affiliated) makes it completely legal and is not in violation of any Federal laws and especially UIGEA if you guys actually read the thing. The person who wrote that article certainly didn't.

Read the ZIPPAYMENT and JBL affidavit posted in the Legisaltion forum to get a general feel of what these companies go through in order to get a check into your hands...It's not as simple as many here make it out to be...

No it is true....Full Tilt is having a problem with their checks...yet again - my withdrawal went through on July 13th - today with the 15th business day...still no money! I am really sick of this.

Don't you love it that Full Tilt won't even look into your issue until it has been
fifteen business days....I had this same situation with the infamous bank transfers!
I am so sick of Full Tilt - yet they are the only site with heads up seven card stud cash games....thus I am trapped on their site!

From an e-mail sent to various recipients:

"Good afternoon,

An article was recently released on Forbes.com that creates several misimpression's that the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group feels compelled to clarify for our customers.

As most of our customers already know, all operators outsource payment processing functions to third parties and these payment processors are subject to regulatory constraints wherever they operate, and, occasionally in the US, are subject to legal action because of the uncertain legal environment there.

However, the seizure of funds from these US payment processors was mischaracterized in this article, which refers to two specific legal cases against US processors. Rightly or wrongly, the article does not make a clear distinction between these cases, which, as a result, paints a misleading picture.

[Continued]

The facts are these: the first of these cases – relating to a seizure of funds from a processor known as JBL Services – happened some time ago and has absolutely nothing to do with the current payment processing challenges being experienced in the US. The constraints being experienced by payment processors in the US are universal in that region and not specific to any particular processor or site. Also, note that not one single player failed to get paid when this processor was disrupted.

The second case refers to a payment processor known as Zippayments.com and seizure of funds from this processor’s bank accounts in Nevada. The article falsely implies – but notably does not go so far as to state - that $9.9M seized from Zippayment’s Nevada bank accounts were funds on account for “Bodog”. This is simply false.

Processing partners with whom the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group does business are sophisticated organizations that are perfectly clear as to the actual facts of these cases and their contexts. They are unfazed by such media hype and Morris Mohawk wishes to ensure that its customers are similarly informed. Customer deposits are safe and every player has and will always be paid.

Getting frustrated here. I requested a withdrawal by check of 150 3 days ago, and it just got approved. Now, I'm trying to withdraw another check for 600, and immediately I get this email every time:

Status: DECLINED

Your withdrawal request has been declined. Please review your
personal account information to ensure that it is the same as the
information stored with your payment processor. You may correct
any of your personal information and try again. If you are still
unsuccessful, you may wish to try one of the other available
withdrawal methods.

I triple-checked my info, and nothing has changed. I've tried to withdraw 6 times now, and each time, the same thing has happened. What I don't understand is, I just got a check approved. What's going on?

OK so I tried something new today. Instead of emailing [email protected], I emailed [email protected] (I did this before but to no avail) However, I put URGENT in the email subject line. Here is the response I got back within 24 hours. (first response since June 19th)

Hello xxxxxxxx,

Thank you for contacting Full Tilt Poker Support.

According to our records, your check for $2200 [xxxxxxxx] was mailed by our check processor on June 20, check number xxxxxxxx. As of today, it has been 30 business days since this check was sent and regular USPS delivery usually takes approximately 15 business days counting processing and delivery.

We recommend placing a stop payment on your check as the estimated delivery time has passed. A stop payment may take some time to process, but once it is confirmed, we will be able to return the funds to your Full Tilt Poker account. That way you may a initiate another withdrawal to check or you can use one of our payment processors as another option for withdrawing your funds. You will find those listed through the Full Tilt Poker Cashier window once you log into your account.

Please let us know if you would like a stop payment placed on this check and we will get that request sent in for you.

Regards,

Ellen
Full Tilt Poker Support

So, I emailed them this

Hello,
Yes please put a stop payment on this check and return the funds to my full
tilt poker account. Please email me when this is done and please confirm
that you have received this email.
Thank you so much for responding.

Hopefully this will work. Anyone know a time frame on how long this takes?

fwiw, JBL Services was the Bodog payment processor acc ount that had their funds seized (and later returned) by SunTrust Bank. SunTrust told them to take their business elsewhere, but the processor never lost a dime in deposits from this situation and Bodog has refunded all the players back as far as i know.

***EDIT***

i always assumed SunTrust returned the funds to Bodog. Now it seems like they never found their way back.

Bugman, I'd say realistically 10 days, but wouldn't be surprised in a month to 6 weeks.

Three checks coming:
7/8
7/15
7/31

I haven't received any of them, but I live in WA so checks are my only option. Each is for 3k (full amount I'm allowed to withdraw for some reason, also only 1 check a week limit). Sadly, when I receive them, I will not know which is which, though I somehow expect 7/31 to come first. Basically, when the checks seemed to be coming later and later I just withdrew more and more.

Next time I think I'll just grind up to 20k and get a wire.

Still waiting on my July 11th check. I've emailed full tilt twice; once on the 23rd, once on August 1st (15th business day); and I haven't gotten a response. Fedex has nothing in their system scheduled for delivery to me.

It seems like people are getting prompt email replies now, and checks are getting delivered. Is anyone having the same problems I am? (no check, no sign of check, and support still not responding. Cashout around the 11th)

Also have a 7/11 check that I haven't received. This withdrawal is still actually been attempted since June. Full Tilt support rarely responds and in my opinion they can stick their site up their ass. I have asked multiple times to cancel my check and allow me to get a MG withdrawal. No reponse. Can they tell me when I'm expected to get my check. No response. They have lost me as a customer. Full Tilt you totally suck.
