888 Poker, moral obligation to warn everyone 888 Poker, moral obligation to warn everyone

Hi, I play 2/4-10/20 occasionally 25/50, I live with other poker players who play much higher. I am not making anything up here or trying to level anyone.

I genuinely feel it is my moral obligation to warn people about 888 poker on the Pacific Poker Network.

Without any explanation, my account and my friend's account have been closed. My friend tried to transfer me money as I was new to the site, and I have never committed or attempted to commit any type of fraud in poker or elsewhere for that matter.

I can attest to the true nature of my friend as well. Without any explanation, 888 has seized upwards of 40,000 dollars and shut our accounts. They will not explain it to us, they will not talk further. It is purely just seized and there is nothing we can do about it.

If anyone has any other information regarding some action I can take, that information would be so greatly appreciated it, but from what I can gather there are no options remaining besides possibly legal action, and I do not know how successful that will be.

Anyway I dont want the same thing to happen to anyone else, so please note your money is likely not safe on 888 of the Pacific Network. I swear I did nothing shady, the only occurrence was that my friend tried to transfer me money, it did not go through, then both of our accounts were shut and we were both banned from the network, and the funds were not returned.

Good luck to everyone at the tables, and please be careful.

If they refuse to talk to you, take it up with their regulator, but I really suspect there is more to this story than what's in your post.

Post in Internet Poker with all information: emails, screen shots, support chats.. whatever your friend has.. and you'll probably get some help.

He tried to transfer, or he did transfer?

And did he transfer, or chip dump?

I provided them with utility bills, leases, IDs, passport and license. They will not give me an explanation, they also said they will not talk to me any longer, and they said I am banned from 888. I wish it werent so as the site is very fishy, but this is the case, and these are the facts, unfortunately.

No chip dumping, he tried to transfer and it said system was down try again later, so he left it alone, next morning neither of us could log in.

Thanks Ice Wolf, I will talk to my friend and prob try this

No "prob try this" post all correspondence in this thread. Can't hurt at all (if everything is what you say it is). You never know, it might even help. That is, unless he doesn't really care about $40K.

seems there is something missing here, my experience with 888 poker has been nothing but great.

And for them to lock you out, must be investigating things, Sounds like this OP is missing alot of information. Post all correspondence ITT.

888 are listed on the London Stock Exchange so I doubt they'd do anything shady. Would be interested to read the emails from them.

I have never lived in a 'grinder house', but I can imagine all the possibilities to collude, not to mention the temptation.

Sorry to be skeptical, but it's hard for most of us to believe that 888 shut both of your accounts and seized your funds just because your friend tried to transfer you money.

IMO, there just has to be more to the story.

I have never played on 888 at the same table as anyone in my house, I only played on there for one day messing around in small tournies as I could only get a few hundred on from moneybookers, I will get some emails up here soon

No doubt the OP is not mentioning something. 888 are at the very top of sites in terms of honesty and reliability. I find it very hard to believe they would just close someones account, seize 40k and then refuse to answer an email. Does not sound like my experience with 888 at all.

As I posted in another thread, I'll bet my roll (as small as it is) that there is more to this story than we've been told thus far.

No one makes a statement like that unless they are a shill.

Guarentee Im leaving nothing out, here come the emails, there are a bunch, also good news, I guess my friend was receiving mixed emails from support and they opened his account randomly so hopefully he can get his funds off before they randomly close his account again.

Dear ###,

This is Janelle D. from the Operations Department at Cassava Enterprises (Gibraltar) Ltd.

Cassava Enterprises manage operational services for 888poker.
I am contacting you in regards to your account with username "vladimir72".

We noticed several discrepancies with your account activity, and in particular the money transfer activity on the 8th December 2011. It is apparent that the money transfer system was experiencing a technical issue, which was used to the advantage of your account.

We have since rectified the issue with the money transfer facility, and any discrepancies that arose from this with regards to bankroll funds have been corrected.

Due to the apparent mis-use of the money transfer facility during this period, your account was blocked. This is to inform you that due to the level of transfers noted on your account, your account will not be reopened.

Regards,
Janelle D.

If there was no transfer and your friend has access to their account is this now resolved? At least the 40K part?

That sucks but at least you're not out any money. The thing I don't understand is why they would reopen your friends account but keep yours closed?

Yeah it makes absolutely no sense, I mean I should be by far the least guilty person in this situation, even though no one is guilty, but Id still prefer my friend can salvage his funds as opposed to me regaining my ability to play at their website. It really doesnt make any sense and they wouldnt explain it to me or give me a valid reason. Im sure they just made a mistake, but they cannot realize it or even explain their position, which is just pathetic support imo.

-Two accounts in 1 household
-Friend explained the situation
-Poker888 doesn´t want to take the risk to have a player multiaccounting and close 1 account.

Maybe it went like this, and they did it good then, imo. If this was BetOnline or some other shady site you could say byebye to your dollars.

detailed, well structured e-mail to their regulator with CC to operations@cassava.net. Do not "miss" anything like you did at the original post here.

Also before proceding to this you can also e-mail operations department about how to contact their superiors and/or any governing body they have. If they refuse to give you any details they are in pretty deep **** and you should include that in the email to the regulator. On a side note - asking for a superior spooks the hell out of employees, especially if they might not be right.

Also contact 888representative here on 2+2, seems like a reasonable man.

You can also contact pacific poker(which is the network) and some legal institutions. Make sure it says "copy sent to xxxx, xxxx, xxxxx, xxxxx" in the email, so they(especially at 888) know it will be reviewed by other people so they cant just go under the radar.
