How bad did Eli play that hand? Why in the hell is he willing to put in that much money only to be pushed off the hand on the river? No wonder Dwan crushes these guys. They consistently show that they are unwilling to play huge pots with him.

Eli played that hand absolutely terrible post flop. Bloating the pot out of position. I really don't see how he folds that river. He was obv convinced his nines were good on the turn with such a safe river card I don't see how he folds. WP by Dwan I suppose, played badly by Eli imo.

Sick finish for Dwan considering how much he was stuck

There was no doubt in my mind that Dwan was going to hit a 7 on the river. Just like I knew he was going to spike a King against Patrick. Everyone says that Dwan runs so lucky and spikes so many hands on the turn or river, but it's because he plays so many more hands than anyone else.

Wow, very sick comeback by Dwan. Did anyone catch how much profit it was? I'm guessing a grand or two?

Looks like $15,800 after his coinflip with Kaplan

no, dwan tilts. A big part of him being stuck was that terrible call with AK high earlier in the session in that huge pot against Antonius. I've seen him make plenty of tiltly plays.

Like any of the other players' game at the table would even be interesting to discuss?

I have to say I am impressed with the way Kaplan has played this episode. He's not letting durrr run him over and making quite a few good bluffs.

IIRC, tom was checked to on the CO and could very well be bluffin/weak and Patrik can't really call with 3 guys to act after him. Much better to take down the pot right there. Tom read this well and raised him off his hand.

That really does sort of get at Dwan's main advantage (aside from incredible hand-reading skills). He's not afraid to lose a half million bucks on his way to a tiny profit. He's more at home with variance than the other guys at the table.

Unless Ivey's there.

So you are saying if they were heads up, he probably wouldn't have played it like that?

I don't normally quasi-necro old replies, but this comment just got about 15 times funnier.

I think if Antonius had laid down the set of 10s, it might have been the best-played televised hand of all time. They have so much history and know where they are in the hand; Durr check-calls the flop knowing he could very well be behind and he check-shoves the turn, representing incredible strength because he knows Antonius is strong enough to call. And Antonius was close to folding it I think.

no. Durrrr even said after the hand he didn't think patrik had a set. Also, he had to raise the turn even with top set.
