Mage draft no Flamestrike, Fireball or Polymorph wish me luck.

Yikes. My last mage draft started off with Pyroblast first pick, second pick fireball, then I grabbed several Sorcerer's Apprentices anticipating a spell heavy deck. Annnnd the only other spells I drafted were Frost Nova and Duplicate. It was awful.

Steam rolled the first guy inside 10 turns ended up going 2-3.

Finally was able to select Hunter in arena, haven't played any games yet with it. My deck actually looks somewhat reasonable. I have a lot of low health minions in the early game (Wolf Rider, Bluegill Warrior, Scarlet Crusader), some decent spells (Arcane Shot, Freezing Trap, Quick Shot, Unleash the Hounds, Kill Command, Multi-Shot), a few taunts (Death Lord, Arcane Nullifier, Sludge Belcher), and late game minions (Frostwolf Overlord, Venture Co Merc, Boulderfist x2, Stormwind Champ). I also have quite a few beasts in my low drops, with a Houndmaster to buff. Also a buff with Dark Iron Dwarf.

Thoughts on how to play this one? My guess is to push tempo. I can't control the early game much due to my minions health problems. I'm thinking just face, face, face unless there's an ldo trade, force my opponents to play defense. If I get my board wiped.... uhh. Pray?

Is it just me, or does death lord seem like a really bad card?

Everyone else. Warrior bottom.

Deathlord can be okay. But it can be awful.

For me it's 1. Paladin, 2. Rogue, 3. Hunter

Mage in the midde.

Goes to show people play differently with different classes!

How many wins would you expect on average with this deck?

it really depends on how comfortable you are with rogue/good you are at HS I think - imo it's certainly capable of going 12 if you draw your good 2 drops early enough

Yep, potentially a 12 win deck, just as easily could go 5

Mage arenas with no flamestrikes are really not fun

Just picked Ragnaros in Arena. As a hunter, lol. Pretty unlikely I'll get to play it, but I hope so.

Deathlord is weird, I picked it again too. It's a high variance play early (particularly against Mage) but it can also buy you a few turns to take control of the board, and pull out some garbage for your opponent.

The dream is real fellas. Started this Shaman arena 0-2, then won 12 in a row. Feels good. Decent rewards too.

My run of god awful decks continues first a Paladin with only 1 Blessing of Kings and now a Rouge with a terrible curve, next to no early game.

I drafted the closest thing to a face hunter I could about 30 mins ago and I'm off to a 3-0 start, which has never happened for me. Well, I guess it's more like a midrange hunter, because I do have late game. My early game is very face heavy.

how did the run end up

Just drafted a warlock deck that has one 2-drop. 2 drops I passed on:

Pick 2: Sludge > sunfury
Pick 4: Dark Iron > succubus
Pick 6: Shredder > ooze
Pick 11: Stormwind champ > novice
Pick 15: Spectral knight > succubus

Took ner'ubar weblord > spellbreaker at pick 19 and never saw another 2...:/

I took a break after 3-0, then I came back and played the deck like a constructed face. It did not go well. Lost next 3, haha. I made a new hunter arena to play tomorrow. The curve is really screwy. I have a ton of 2 and 3 drops + like five 5 drops, and three Stormwind Champs (lulz). Oh, and a Longbow. Never used one before. One of the 5 drops is a Fel Reaver. I guess it's fine considering my curve is whack. I can't really discard things I need to win. Will be difficult to play a lot of turns. I do have a couple loot horders at least.

yeah this. the aren ahas insna eammounts of variance.
for example i my last 5 arena runs i went 8,1,0,12,8 wins.
sometimes you just queue into decks that make you wonder if they havent queued you into ranked by mistake.

Had another Paladin deck, first five picks were great Argent Commander, Blessing of Kings, Scarlet Crusader, True Silver, Harvest Golem. I started to hope I was going to get a good deck and I kind of did but pick 10 Light warden, Bloodsail Corsair or Ancient Watcher three trash cards but I have twenty picks to go I might get something to taunt or silence an Ancient Watcher. I had one in my one and only 12 win deck even when I had no way to activate it people rushed their minions into it. Well I got nothing to activate it and the first two games I got it in hand and my opponent Just totally ignored it and I wasted 2 mana early and paid the price. 1-3 with a not bad deck.

The variance is real....4 wins with an insane pally deck. Had like 3 pally decks in a row I thought were great crap out early. Back to back to back 12, 9, and 8 with rogue, priest and druid all with decks that I thought sucked.

Yeah, I just tied my best with 5 wins on the new hunter deck that I thought was way, way worse than the one I only got 3 on. And I only won 2 with a warlock deck that I may never top (granted, no idea how to play warlock).
