Ya couldn't the author just tell a few friends how he's going to end it and have his friend load up?

Bovada used to take action on who would win Survivor, who would win American Idol and other contests where the winner was known in advance.

They won't be taking serious bets on it. Bookies offer novelty markets like this all the time for marketing purposes, for example we're now discussing Bovada in a GOT thread so that in itself is of value to the company. If anyone attempted to lump $10k on they'd be politely told to go jump through the moon door.

I haven't read every post in this thread after the last episode, but I feel like Melisandre's presence/re-emergence at the wall is getting overlooked. There is plenty of evidence/precedent for the priest/priestesses of R'hllor (god I am a dork for knowing this) to bring people "back to life."

Perhaps her prognostications of victory related to Jon and not Stannis?!?!
Every second post has been about that, so it's not getting overlooked...

Think they made a point of having her say "I see Bolton banners burning" or something rather than specifically saying Stannis would win. So yeah someone is going to be taking Winterfell successfully.

The show could end Reservoir Dogs style, everyone kills each other and the end with death everywhere footsteps of just one are heard walking towards the throne and a man sits on the Iron Throne staring out towards nothing with a crown on his head as the one who is left alive is shown to be none other than Hodor.
[fade to black]

Spoiler:
it is found later George R. R. Martin won over a Billion dollars from the books.

I get the feeling that Jon Snow was actually son of the Mad King, and Ned Stark saved him from being killed and thrown off the wall when him and Robert won the rebellion.

The mans way to honorable to have a legit bastard.

The Boltons could go down to Jesus Jon and the Wildlings, or they could go down to Vale troops and LF. Remember, Cersie ordered LF to take them out after he convinced her they were traitors for harboring Sansa.

I think there could also be some kind of northern uprising all of the "north remembers" stuff has to go somewhere other than just a flayed grandma

Pretty sure that's the heavy favorite to be true.

I thought it was the other guy. The one who LF implied didn't rape neds sister.

You guys mean Rhaegar not the mad king, right?
06-25-2015 , 07:00 AM
Yea rhaegar not mad king. Seems a lock at this point. Not sure why neds sissy Made him promise not to say to this extent or make up a different lie but we will see

Which ever one stole Ned's sister. She probably the mother, and he saved him maybe...

Don't no the back story that well. But half stark half Targaryen makes since. Kings blood and stark blood.

I just watched the 4th episode, any significance to Ned looking the blacksmith in the eye and deducing that he's the mad kings bastard son?
06-25-2015 , 10:37 AM
Yeah Rhaegar.
06-25-2015 , 11:59 AM
Blacksmith = King Robert's bastard, not the Mad King

If people knew Rhaegar had a son, it would cause huge issues. Some would claim he was the rightful heir to the throne. Which means others would want him dead. If true, Ned had to keep it a secret.

Did you just start the series? You may want to avoid this thread as there's tons of discussion of stuff that's happened on the show already that could spoil a lot for you.

Just read that some storylines of next season/book have somehow leaked. I have no idea how bad it is, but it really pisses me off if it's anything serious.

For years we've had to dodge spoilers everywhere, assholic bookreaders "trolling" us that only watch the show, and just when you think it's not going to happen again, it appears that we're in for another 12 months of dodging spoilers.

**** that D:

Great point. Based on the rules of succession as we know them, does the crown fall to the slain king's bastard or their younger sibling? If the former then yes, that'd be Snow (assuming they're his parents). If the latter, it fell to Viceryus (sp?), and then to Dany. I know this came up before in discussing who the rightful heir to King Robert should be, and I think even after the discovery of his bastards it was still Stannis.

I've seen the last 3 and first 4 episodes, and have heard multiple things about the plot just going online and in some cases reading thread titles. I don't want someone to blatantly tell me what's going to happen but I'm not going to cover my ears and hide under a blanket if I happen to overhear someone. Thanks for the heads up though

Season 1 spoilers ahead if you haven't watched past e4.

Spoiler:
At that point Ned was still trying to figure out what Jon Arryn had been up to and why he was killed. He will later figure out that Arryn took an interest in Robert's bastards because he suspected Robert wasn't the father of Cersei children. He confirmed that suspicion later because no Baratheon in known history, nor any of Robert's bastards, had blonde hair.

Jon isn't the Mad King's son, he's Rhaegar's son and Dany's nephew (probably).

Jon Snow isn't blonde though and the targaryeans have bleached blonde hair

I know. When the mad king was killed the crown goes to Rhaegar. When Rhaegar died does it go to his brother then sister or to his bastard son?
