hilarious and a little embarrasing.

Nobody ever remembers that tallstack and I proved SNG results obey a normal distribution (my greatest accomplishment on this forum imo), or my early conversations about ICM. Heck even my confidence calculator or my variance spreadsheets... nope, always that stupid guide. sigh. At least it's probably largely forgotten now.

Yugo too! Wow has nothing changed in here? Are you all playing out of six figure bankrolls? Maybe not -- I hear black Friday hurt people's profit a lot -- which scares me since after UIGEA at the end of '06 I was already starting to feel left behind. That's ok though -- right at the same time I went back to school and spent the next 5 years getting 2 graduate degrees. Anyone near Toronto now?

I'm pretty sure most people around here now don't even know "we" (as in you guys, not me) invented ICM. Apathy and Inyaface are Toronto I think.

Nah dude, that was all Moshman
12-10-2013 , 01:02 PM
Pudge and Eagles in Toronto too maybe.

--

UIGEA, neteller arrests, cheating on Absolute, and starting a new business...drove me almost completely off and then I haven't played a hand online since black friday.

Aleo - most of us don't play poker we just never apparently got enough IRL friends to leave the forum .

(I actually post quite a bit in the health & fitness subforum so keep tabs on this thread...b/c, why not?)

awesome, and welcome back Aleomagus. Second what Gramps said, it's a lot more work to find and keep an edge now --- says the man who stopped being a pro in April

I remember ruthlessly working through every single thread in your archive guide - at the time it was gold. Sadly Eastbay never developed SNG power tools further, so lost the market some Wiz o alternatives - pun...

Regret$ I consider myself paged: Still happy to look after anyone from here who makes it to Arequipa - pm me.

Giving Ruse the banhammer, even though he requested it himself, felt satisfying

Don't be ashamed of that guide. I know it helped out a ton of people learning SNGs at the time and a lot of the information in it remains valid today.

As Lacky said I'm in Toronto along with a handful of other old school STTFers.

Uruguay anyone?

+1, I referred several+ friends to that guide as a good starting point. Hard to find something that lays it out for you in well-written/digestible form.

I can confirm that guide is how I started. That + running hot was all it took for me to get addicted to STTF and the rest is history.

Pffft, no one around here ran hot at the start of their poker careers.

New Jersey now allows online gambling (residents can play poker). In the first week, something like 10K people created accounts to play poker. 42 bought Obamacare.

I call that the Aleo effect. Well done.
