slept late, made a breakfast of eggs canadian bacon and bagels, grabbed a coffee and walked to the san francisco museum of modern art and saw an exhibit of richard avedon's photography before walking home and making a wonderful pizza with fresh mozzarella, basil and heirloom tomatoes and a spinach salad with red peppers, carrots, candied walnuts, chevre and a homemade raspberry vinaigrette.

just rented gran torino and about to curl up in bed and watch it with the beautiful woman with whom i've spent the last week.

thoroughly enjoyed this day off.

richard avedon is one of my favs. is it the portraits of power exhibit that i think is still touring right now?

yes...knew it as I was doing it too

no it was called "richard avedon: photographs 1946-2004" and included photos spanning his entire career.

i wasn't familiar with him at all, but was completely blown away. you walk in and the first group of photos are from when he traveled the west taking photos of working class people.

i nearly cried when i saw this one:



anyway it's a great exhibit and if anyone lives in the bay area i strongly recommend checking it out. and if you want some company hit me up!
