Create a Big roulette wheel divided into 21 with 0-100%(5 increments on it), have them sin it and tell them "Lets see how good you really run".../thread

I've made the following deal with my friend: I ship him HoldemManager... The fish is still playing without a HUD. lol

With the rest of the profit we're gonna grind some larger MTT's together and chill out in a couple of days. That way we can make even more money, having fun together and my friend can play some tournaments too expensive for his roll.

Pretty ok imo. You guys agree?

not only would i give them 100% of my tournament winnings, id also give them my car, my bank account information, and the keys to my apartment. friends are important guys.
qflooooooool

i think it depends on what you think of him as a player. if you ever think you'll need him to come through for you like this in the future, definitely offer him half the profits. it sets a nice precedent for next time.

Really things like this come down to whatever you guys want to do. If this is the agreement and you're both happy with it then it sounds great to me.

Like I said in my first post. People shouldn't 'expect' anything for doing you a favor unless you specifically said you would give them something when asking for the favor. So they should be happy with anything they get.

Before he took over I would make a deal and tell him how many %.
But in this case I would ask him what he would think is fair. Ofcourse I don't aggree if he would say smtng ridiculous.

But a good friend will see it as a favor and don't want any money. So just give him like 20%-30% than.

it depends on the history with my friend lol

here is where tekee comes in and says i put money before friends...blah blah blah...
It would seem that in most staking deals the "stakee" is in the lower bargaining position, but here the "staker" is the one in the lower position. So looking at it just as a business deal it should change to a more 50/50 split.

how is the staker in the lower bargaining position here...and because of your flawed logic, you think it should be 50/50...no, you are wrong...

Well, I have never staked or been staked, so perhaps I am missing something here. But, if the friend does not step in and become the "stakee" then the "staker" loses it all. right?

not to mention he came in a spot where he was deep with a good stack so he was pretty much guarenteed to make money if he just sat there and folded

My friends are actually friends, and if any of them have the time to do it they will, for me, regardless of getting 20% or 50%.

20 percent if he cashes 35 percent if he finishes top 3 depending on the stacks/situation going in.

I'd subtract the value of ur tournament for both and split the profit down the middle.

This is the fairest way to share the money in light of the fact that you have no agreement. If u r filing taxes as a winning player, i'd give the after tax share and copy him on the entry for the sched C worksheet at the EOY.

I'm going to approx everything but u can consider whether there should be adjustments as see fit. Anyone I am going to let have access to my poker account, I'm not going to split hairs with and trust implicitly.

The value of your tournament when u left was material. If the tournament ended at that point you would be awarded some small prize based on ur % of total chips with 35 players left each player has 3% of the chips on avg, u hav a little over twice the avg stack say 7% of the chips in play. 7% of the prize pool is the value of ur tourney when u left; and , along with the value of the other tourney, is the amount of equity that u have put at risk in the transaction.

In a perfect world u could shop this and probably get a player (who was willing to break to rules), to play ur tournament for ~25%-33% of the profit. Unfortunately u r short on time and a decision needs to be made quickly. U r paying for the convenience of having it done immediately.
