Was thinking about this hand cycling home - imo the small cbet is important as it keeps TPxK hands in villains rereaising range which makes a flop 3bet, or at the very least a call, the correct play. Easier to b/f with a bigger cbet.
Still think this hand is a fold when villain shoves turn with with 56bbs behind. Beat next to nothing.

you could probably just fold the flop. also, I don't see the problem w/ raising a set on a dry board if we're expecting someone to stack off w/ an overpair, which represents a fair part of your range given the position you opened from.

Overpairs are going to constitute what about 20% of hero's range on this flop if even? which means hero has to fold about 75% of the time if he calls with some top pair stuff, seems like an unprofitable setmine to me with 22/44. Like we can try and play the hand for value if we don't make a set but that's going to be pretty difficult depending on hero's barrelling frequencies and range

Agreed on betting more on the flop but it's not terrible or anything IMO. I probably just 3bet the flop after that large raise because people are clowns and will r/c JT+ here with this sizing, but I can see folding with a read. Turn I definitely fold, what would you have done if he bet 8-9k OTT? Real tricky spot, good thread!
