Unless you have unusual requirements (i.e. you can filter Stars lobby down to show only the sng you want to play), SFSO is perfect and Free.

What kind of ROI can one get in the 6-max, single-table, NLHE sit-and-gos (at various levels)?
Beginner/Basic Question Thread Quote
02-14-2011 , 01:09 PM
Think that might depend on how good you are?

Between -100% and 375%.

I'd say the top multitabling regs can prob do

1s 15%
3.25s 12%
6s 10%
13s 8%
25s 6%
etc

I only have exp with the 3s, 6s and 13s so I could be off but I think thats pretty close. Again thats for mass multitablers, you can do better ROI wise if you play less tables but your hourly will be lower.

Those numbers seem to be extremely high.

I'm new to grinding the super turbo $2 on tilt. I need a hud and tracking software and i know poker tracker and holdem manager are the top two by far. I was wondering if one would have an advantage over the other considering this is the only type of game and style that i will be playing until i move up later to higher limits. Additional info: I only play 2 tables right now, take lots of notes, and am looking for a study buddy to give each other feedback.

Allright, got a frustration about Collins Moshmans strategy right here.

In situation like this mr Collin is saying to push blindly any two cards right here, becouse we cant let ourselves blind out. Becouse we cant let our stack hit blinds, therefore we will be under 3 bbs, if we dont push here and will have no fold equity.

It's a 1.75$ 9 man Turbo sng on Stars.

But even with realistic calling ranges Sngwiz is yelling not to push here.

Do I really fold here if I dont get my 66+ here?

Help will be highly appreciated!

You need to set a negative edge of around -.2 or so. If moshman said this was a ATC push, he must of written it back in the day when people where calling tighter. I prob shove 20% or so.

Haha, yeah, sorry for the vague wording, I really should be more careful with my use of the English language. I mean, what kind of ROI range can a "good" (but not "great") player get single-tabling various levels of 6-max, single-table, NLHE SnGs?

I wouldnt reconmend single tabling, will take ages to get any kind of sample size, pretty sure with a little practise anyone can at least 4 table and play optimally, i play 9-12 tables of 6max stt's to 18 mans at 25% roi, would say im on the better side of variance though. Hope this helps

Can anyone sweat me / give me some tips on my play style at Micro STTs? I played 1 dollar 9 max and now have moved up to 3 dollar 9 max. I am doing alright but I know I could be doing better.

So i play both super turbos on FT and reg turbos on Stars. Would it make more sense to play say 2 hours of one in the morning of one and 2 hours of the other in the afternoon. Or should i just play supers one day and turbos the next?

I guess switching it up would make playing a bit less boring, but i think switching between formats in the same day might make my play a little weaker.

Any thoughts?

Why would i make your play weak? Playing multiple formats and thinking about different/new things is a good way to keep the pokah brain sharp imo. I'd say most days I grind at least 2x diff things throughout the day. I even go so far as to play 6max cash and sng/mtt at the same time (not in vast numbers ldo), I believe it works my brain is a new way and helps me improve.

Hmm, I just kinda thought it took you a while to get in the right mindset for the format youre playing. And if youre having to do that twice in one day youre taking twice as long to warm up as it would if you alternated days.

I guess once you play something enough you dont really need to get warmed up. And I guess making it less boring means youre paying more attention and playing better.

Thanks Tomo

I've been playing for about 2 months now and i play strictly SnG's on FTP. I was advised just to play these until I get a feel for the game. I've read 2 books on the game of poker, but it seems that everyone has read at least one. I feel as though I just get lucky whenever I come in first. I really don't know how to "close", if there is such a word in poker. I've been shown Push/Fold Charts, and it seems to be working, but I think there's something missing in my game when it comes down to the top 4 and 5. Am I just not good skill wise? Any suggestions would be helpful.

-Thank you in advance

As long as you're getting either first or third when you cash, you're doing something right. When it's 4 or 5 handed, you have to ramp up your aggression and aim it towards the players who stand the most to lose (especially the ones who are third, fourth, and fifth in chips).

Cool status, google ICM. It's the basic foundation of all good players endgame play. From there learn about Nash Equilibrium ranges and how you should vary your shoving and calling ranges to exploit mistakes your opponents will make. If you intend of getting serious with poker, invest in Holdem Manager or PT3 and SNGwiz if you want to get good at sngs. Best of luck.

What would be the best way to spend my FPP's (~4k) on Stars if I want to build my bankroll? I've played some 70FPP Sunday 1/4m satellites (winner-takes-it-all), but is there some other ways to spend them wisely (considering my pretty small FPP-roll)?

Help much appreciated, Thanks.

210FPP, 20 man satelite to 1/4m, top 6 pays and rather soft field
