You go to Tournaments --> Special, then they have $1 $2 $5 tournaments etc. and you just register to them. That is how I did it.

This tilt me a bit. I mean this hearthquake is a real drama but it's way too much covered by media. There will be billions send to Haiti while there are other people dying without anybody worrying about it...

Well you were hangin out at 5/T yesterday so it must be close to Scorcho stakes. I might take the step back considering that 50/1 -6BB/100 fish to my immediate right managed to take 40 bets off me by donking every flop and turn and getting there on every river. Don't think i've been that tilted at a table in a long time.

I think 5/10 has become more profitable than 10/20 tbh. Donk machines are awesome though... I wish they would make a donkfecta badge. Some fish's PTR pages would overflow dbeckham style.

Agreed. We're poker players, we do just about nothing for society. It's only fair for us to ship a little bit, but in reality we should be shipping a little bit every month to some place.

we do just as much for society as 80%+ of the earths population imo, so no reason to feel guilty

You're probably right, as the "Earth's" population, but I can't help to feel guilty just a little bit.
01-21-2010 , 09:19 AM
even counting western developed countries only I still stand by that statement btw

I used to have the same attitude as you, but after having a job for a few years where I was involved with a lot of different parts of the company I worked for and met up customers/suppliers etc I have totally changed my view.
I came to realize that very very few jobs actually serve much of a purpose for society. They are important in the sense that people get paid and hence have money to spend etc, but apart from that they dont serve much of a bigger purpose.

I see what you're saying. We're helping ourselves by getting jobs, not really other people. I don't know if I'd go so far as say 80% though. That seems high. We probably just have difference views on what jobs "help" people and which jobs don't.

I always thought Haiti is the crummy part of the island there also the dominican republic is. nobody goes there for vacation but all other sudden people act like they totally care...

but hey, if I run better if I donate...

I will try later today. TR will follow.

TV and radiostations in the Netherlands are teaming up today for a huge fundraiser, with the government matching the result at the end of the night.

last time they did this stuff was after the big tsunami, the total was € 116,000,000 back then.

Last edited by gnalf; 01-21-2010 at 10:04 AM. Reason: after a few hours, total is € 10,6 million already

I've decided to only play 2/4 until my PTR says I'm in the green.
