That works for anyone that is sitting there looking at the screen during that 60 minutes.
I make it a point to never miss a hand, no matter how long the tournament is. But I can do that. I'm a full-time player with my own office, no kids at home, no distractions--but that's not most of the people on your site.
Why is the message only up for 60 seconds?. Put it on the screen and leave it there, updating us from time to time. Post in this thread. How about sending a group text? Don't do the minimum, do everything that you can to communicate with us when you know that it's going to be down.
When you know that you are going to be down for maintenance, again, leave a message up so we can see it when we sign in, or at least flash it on the screen every five minutes. Sixty seconds isn't good enough. I don't know about you, but I go to the bathroom from time to time and it often takes more than sixty seconds.
