How is urgot suddenly good? I because of sona nerfs? Its literally inconcievable to me why urgot is now fp for evey competetive team

A decent part I think is that teams like to copy what works for successful teams, and M5 dominated a game with Urgot

Urgot saw a lot of play as bot lane carry like 4 months ago or something, chaox was playing him a good amount.

Yeah i've played a decent amount of mid soraka, and she is incredibly strong vs traditional casters. Here's basically how I feel about things:

1. Max E, not Q. Q is great for farming and pushing, but E lets you completely zone the enemy AP. E is instant cast and very long range, and against most mids you can harass them for free and they have no chance to retaliate. This is especially nice with her new auto-attack buff, you can now last hit quite well with that instead of relying on Q. I also don't take any points in W until E and Q are both maxed, but that may not be optimal.

2. I much prefer a tank/cdr build to an AP build. Soraka is most effective when standing in the middle of the entire enemy team spamming Q, but when you do an AP build you can't really do that. The tank/cdr build maximizes the amount of Qs you're able to land in a teamfight and prevents you from being blown up immediately if they decide to focus you. I generally build something like this: Boots, Reverie, Frozen Heart/Spirit Visage (depending on enemy team), Wota, Rylais, Randuins. I always plan on not having blue buff, this build probably isn't optimal if you're going to be getting all the blues. It's nice not to rely on it though.

3. Runes/Masteries - Mpen red, armor yellow, mr blue, ms quint, 0/21/9 is what i usually run. Basically you just want to be tanky, but the movespeed is nice to be able to get away from ganks a bit better and to get in range to land your e.

So basically the game goes like this - you harass the enemy mid with E on cooldown and the occasional Q until he's sitting at tower 2 levels lower than you with 20% hp telling his jungler to please come gank this ****ing soraka so the jungler comes to gank but you're too tanky and their mid is too low and you get a double kill and everyone goes "lolol this soraka" in chat cause wtf soraka's not supposed to get kills then you have complete control of the lane and you deny the enemy mid so hard that he's level 8 when you're level 14 and they can't gank you cause 2 people isn't enough to kill you right now and you just push straight down mid to the inhibitor until all the other lanes come and maybe you die or maybe you get a triple kill but it doesn't matter cause you have 6 levels and 150 cs on the enemy mid and they surrender at 20

Genja. The guy is a visionary. First Wriggle's PD, and then the Bruta/Frozen Heart/GA Urgot.

Before Genja everyone was building manamune/brutalizer/BT and trying to shoehorn Urgot into the role of AD carry, which he's not. He's a tank, or at the very least a bruiser. With Genja's build you can utilize swap to it's fullest potential, because you don't have to worry about being focused. If they focus you after you swap, they lose the fight 100%. The Bruta rush instead of manamune was also important, bruta gives you way more burst damage to be able to get the kill with swap instead of trying to harass them down by landing E a bunch of times

You have to be standing between the buff and its spawn when it drops aggro from the leasher. Took me a long time to learn this. Saves so much headache, though.

Soooooooo frustrating.

I started doing a looooooot better with my jungle olaf when I took boots and 4 pots gotta put 1 point in more starting gold which kind of sucks having to go that deep into utility but hey it works i can gank after red and its a lot easier my jungle is a lot faster too.

Use builds at first and read guides. Solomid.net is a great place to start. also mobafire.com but that site has mixed reviews.

Watching the streams on twitch and own3d also helps a ton.

Play Co-op vs AI until about level 8ish. The AI is horrible and eventually you should stop playing it just because it reinforces bad habits, but at first it is good cause only having 4 trolls to deal with is better than having 9.

Just play. It's the best way to learn.

Regarding Brand.

I've been maining him mid in ranked for a pretty long time. What's the consensus? Still viable?

I usually build 2-3 dorans, sorc shoes then rush dcap. But I've seen builds that rush Rylais first. Does his passive proc the slow?

I haven't seen him much lately, but I think he's viable.
