Is it just inevitable now, that when the Shield lose, Seth will be the one to fall?

Before I read another word on the show I just want to say I loved the main event and would have accepted that easily as a Wrestlemania main event. The mark in me was hoping for the handshake after the match even though I really didn't expect it.

WTF, Raw was awesome. Well, the bits I didnt skip through anyway.

Mother****ing piledriver on Raw!

I hope Vince was backstage watching thinking "****, I just realised how well Cena and Punk work together and Rock vs Cena is consistently garbage."

meh i dont think even vince fails to realise that....

its just that he wants to pull attitude era fans back in and feels rock is his best bet. its just a shame that rock is a ******ed selfish moron who pushes himself in to terrible storylines that are destructive to the company

Punk is to Cena what Flair was to Luger.

Most of the time, each musclebound meathead couldn't manage much of any quality in the ring, but Punk and Flair respectively have brought out the absolute most in them consistently.

Uh, please don't defile Luger's legacy. Cena never bodyslammed Yokozuna on the USS Intrepid

There's no such thing as an AA match, but there seems to be a Bodyslam match every year. And Hogan didn't AA Andre at WM 3, he slammed him. Bodyslam>>>>all other moves

Vince was pissed about the piledriver. Probably due to it being on Cena and the fact that Wrestlemania is right round the corner.

I just re-watched the Punk - Cena match and I loved seeing moves that you don't see these guys pull, like the power bomb, pile-driver, hurikerana (or however it's spelled). Obviously you have to usually "pay" to see them, but it was nice to see a variety other than Super Cena and his 5 Moves of Doom.

I'm guessing that Punk and Cena both legit dislike Rocky and really did treat their preparation for last night's match as their best attempt at putting on MOTY during WrestleMania season. It's certainly one of the early candidates now.

Doesnt shock me Vince was pissed about the piledriver. When watching I thought there is zero chance that was booked and Cena and Punk just decided to do it to put the match over the top. Was probably booked as a GTS. Even if they would have given an exception to the no piledriver rule it wasnt coming a few weeks before the most important match of the year for the company's profitability performed on its top star.

If that match had been at WM in a few weeks it would have stolen the show and not even close.

maybe i just haven't been watching closely enough. back in the day it seemed to be a pretty common move. did they outlaw it or something after scsa got injured?

also, match was awesome either way but the fact that it was a totally clean finish makes it even better

+1. It was a great display of how you can put the loser over without doing any schmozzy **** in the booking to cheapen the winner's win.

They basically banned piledrivers around 2000, though some people have gotten permission to use the move - Undertaker's tombstone piledriver being most noteworthy, where no one would question banning it for him cos he is so reliably safe doing it.

The reason given is they are too dangerous, which given it is considerably more dangerous to take a two foot drop in a driver than to leap off a ladder 30 feet up through a table or two sums up how bad it is.

The shooting star press is another move that got banned along the way, Brock screwing it up is the most famous example but Billy Kidman basically made it his mission to botch that move as much as possible (it didnt help that his version is a piece of **** with a low rotation) but Evan Bourne showed up, did it day in day out never making a mistake so no one even questioned him using the move apparently.

The 450 splash is banned in the same sense as the SSP, but Gabriel can get away with it cos he is so precise just like Bourne. The only other performer I can think of in recent times to use the move was Jillian Hall (seriously).
