The main problem with involving Ryder in the Kane/Cena story is that they are totally burying the US title. Weren't they supposed to make it important again?

Yeah this too! Ryder mentioned in multiple segments he was terrified of Kane and was made to look like an even bigger moron when Cena responded to him and downplayed it all with Twitter follower jokes. Nice champion and good job of Cena no-selling an evil monster with magical powers who can make fire appear and teleport around or something.

Meh, set up Ryder vs. Kane at Mania, have Cena give him a "you can do this" pep talk, have Ryder manage to beat Kane in a title defense and you've strengthened the belt with the champion fading a very credible challenger.

I won't agree that this is burying it until we see where it goes.

I've just been trying to recap what they have done with the championship that Ryder wanted so desperately that he started a petition and got Cena to forfeit his WWE Championship shot for. The raw after TLC they had the 3 champions together, that was cool. Last week they had Swagger challenging him, that worked. But unless I'm missing something I think that was all they did with it in 4 Raws. And last night he didn't even wear it in any of his 10 backstage segments. There was a huge build to Ryder finally winning it and then it's just forgotten and unimportant 2 weeks after he got it.

Lol @ zero percent chance. Its basically a lock* that Ryder is on the card and if he is then defending that title at WM has to be like 50/50 at worst.

* barring injuries or him doing something really really dumb to gather massive heat, which is really unlikely given most people would have straight up knocked Vince the **** out by now given how he has been treated

I could possibly see Ryder and Eve versus like Kane and Beth in some whack-ass mixed tag thing at Mania but I really hope that doesn't happen and that is the only scenario I can come up with where a healthy Ryder still holding the title doesn't defend.
