Although how much of a draw Hogan is remains the question. He achieved next to nothing for TNA.

I'm excited for Hogan's return, but Michael Cole/Lawler is going to totally butcher the moment and it pisses me off.

Hogan comes out and announcers over-react.

Lights go out......"We're here."

Hogan surrounded. Cena and Sheamus make the save. 6 man tag main event.

Sheamus taken out early turning it into 3 on 2. Cena pounded for most of the match. Makes the tag to Hogan who turns around and drops the leg on Cena.

Hogan revealed to be Sister Abagail and claims to be starting a New New World Order.....brotha

if punk ever returns they should absolutely have him return as nWo

in reality, when he returns its going to be advertised 2 months in advance and he'll cut a babyface promo before being interrupted by santino, but the segment will ultimately end with punk, santino and emma dancing in the ring while cole invites viewers to watch it in slow-mo on the WWE app

If Punk did come back, they'd have to have someone (HHH or the current champ) trolling the crowd for several weeks playing his music (like HBK used to do with Bret Hart's music in Canada all the time) with nobody coming out until one week he does.

Meh, that's not far off from being that weird moment where they spoiled Bischoff in advance. Just having it be a legit surprise on a run-in is better IMO.

Bischoff wandered onto the screen while Booker T was cutting a backstage promo with Coachman. "Tell me I did just not see that," etc. Then they go to commercial before coming back and having Vince announce one of the biggest shockers ever, that the new Raw GM he was bringing in was Bischoff.

id be curious to see how much of a ratings bump they get when comebacks are pre-announced. if there's no bump, then shame on them because unexpected returns/arrivals are basically the nuts in pro wrestling.

i watched some shoot interview once with roddy piper where he said that WCW had planned some sort of return feud for him and he told bischoff that if word got out to anyone other than them and the few people who had to know that piper would cancel the whole thing. word got out and piper canceled it.

Not only that but unexpected returns help future ratings. It might not give a boost to the rating of that single show, but now you have to watch every episode cause you never know. Sure they pop a rating when they announce someone is showing up, but then you figure if they don't announce anything, there's no reason to watch.

Kensuke Sasaki retired a couple weeks ago. This week the Wrestling Observer Newsletter had a very long story on him and his wife. Very interesting article for anybody interested.

When is the last WWE surprise signing that was an actual surprise? Even including big wrestlers coming off injury it has to be like Cena at the Rumble 15 years ago or whatever (2008 I think).

that was 2011. yes, it was over 3 years ago now. i had to double check myself.

and there was a raw recently that advertised the return of mark henry and had dean ambrose defend the us title against a mystery opponent that ended up being mark henry
