I can see the more likely scenario being a Ricardo face turn and short feud with ADR, perhaps after ADR is done with Cena. ADR would have to win the feud to re-establish himself after going down to Cena but it would give RR the chance to become a regular part of the midcard going forward. He certainly seems good enough.

EDIT: RR could work a Mexican Funaki gimmick - "Raw NUMERO UNO ring announcer!", although I would be concerned that anyone with a ring announcer gimmick in WWE would bury Mr. Kennedy.....KENNEDY in the (not unlikely) event that he decides to return to the company in 1-2 years.

Yeah, if Ricardo got a fair shake in the ring he could be really really over with the crowd, esp if the impact is he isnt expected to do well in a match he got randomly put in then he just goes out and wrestles circles around John Morrison.

Having Alberto announce Ricardo would be epic too. Doing the entire thing in the same way in Spanish including the fact they are both billed from the same town in Mexico so it can mirror it perfectly.

I think they need to wait until they face turn Ricardo to let him wrestle in the WWE. The impact of ADR belittling him as a joke and then Ricardo actually being really damn good is going to get over really well as a face compared to doing the same as a heel.

It would be akin to Daniel Bryan losing non-stop on NXT and then announcing that he wasn't just going to last 5 minutes with Batista; he was going to make him tap out. Working a very competitive match right after that was a great way to start getting him over.

Ricardo could come out in tuxedo-themed tights. And wouldn't need any music, he could just announce himself. How much do I have to pay to see this happen, WWE?

They should do a slow build where ADR begins to blame Ricardo for certain things going wrong, Ricardo gets tired of it, debuts as a masked Mexican legend that ADR can't beat, terrorizes him for a little while, all the while Ricardo still does announcing and stuff for ADR, then eventually unmasks.

His ring gear or at least what he wears walking to the ring needs to involve a tuxedo t shirt.

The other funny way to play this would be to have ADR call out Kofi and Evan Bourne in a couple months and say "you guys, you're awful, you call yourselves champions, I think me and Ricardo could beat you" and go from there, if they don't want to split them up.

HOW HAS NOBODY MENTIONED THE AWESOME RESPONSE OF ADR TO CENA WITH THE "OOOOH IM SO SCARED" SARCASTIC HAND GESTURE. Can someone gif it for me?

ADR was awesome all night. Promo was great and match was solid.

Smackdown very good as usual.

Torture rack was impressive and solid matches all the way around

Yeah, I thought pretty much the same thing there. The rest of Smackdown, delivered though. Henry/Shaemus was fantastic. I really hope they have the stones to put the belt on Henry for awhile. It'd be a really disappointing end to his build to see him get super-ortoned.

Pretty sure we've talked about this...

With HIAC 2 weeks after whatever they do sets up that PPV, so Orton going over more or less clean then Henry destroys him putting him through a table or something seems the mostly likely option to me.

Keeps Henry looking strong, keeps the belt on Orton, sets up a classic "Hell in a Cell to contain the monster" type theme.

Yeah its a bit annoying right now, cause on one hand having Christian go over completely clean on Orton at some point in the near future would be huuuge, but on the other I want to see Henry just beat the **** out of everyone for like 6 months with the belt.

I think there's a chance of Christian winning the belt back on Tuesday and setting up a 3-way for this next PPV. They've never announced it as being Orton vs. Henry, and have in fact seemed to deliberately avoid it given that Mark Henry won a #1 contender battle royale.

Yea that'd be awesome. Basically my hopeful end goal of this event is to get a Christian/Orton HiaC match where Christian beats him clean.

Hell, maybe Henry can win the WHC feud with Sheamus and everyone wins

Also to clarify:

Despite my constant mentioning of wanting christian to beat Orton clean, even if it doesn't happen they've booked him awesomely.

From what I'm reading, strong chance Punk vs Cena is the main event for Tuesday night's Smackdown

If they go triple threat i would see the outcome being Henry smashes Christian on Tuesday throwing out that match to set up the triple threat then Orton pins Christian to keep Henry on the boil going to HIAC.

Which pretty much buries Christian to the point he is barely enhancement talent for the midcard.

...except that Christian repeatedly beats the whole midcard cleanly during the last handful of months.

So far he's clearly being booked as a great wrestler who just can't beat Orton fairly.

Breathe deeply and try to relax. It's just a good match on free tv, nothing to get upset about.

+1

I dont think hes lost to someone not named Orton since he's came back. At least it feels that way.

Disagree.

(But of course I'm not actually going to beat the **** out of something.)

Not sure this is necessary...chances are we'll get a very solid 15-20 minute match on free TV, and seeing as they weren't going with an elongated Cena/Punk feud (probably as a result of wanting to get Punk over as a face) I think we should just be happy we get another match between them.

Of course, it'll probably be interrupted by Vinnie Vegas again and will end up a waste of time, but hey, a man can dream.
