I think they were dumb enough to think that the fans would get behind this Sammy/Tay love angle. Luckily they figured out they need to flip Sammy ASAP, but now it is has us in this weird spot where we have to cheer Lambert and ATT.

BTW, Ethan Page seems like he could be a star, not sure why they're always pushing Scorpio more.

That whole card looks unreal, 3 matches I can't wait to see, and for me, there usually aren't many must-see matches outside of the PPVs, so that's saying something.

Totally agree re: Ethan Page. He's still quite young (32), so he has time to breakout, I hope it happens though.

AEW's biggest problem for me right now is its burying of their top belt. This Hangman reign has been so lackluster, AEW doesn't even present it as a major deal anymore.

Hangman got 90 seconds of screen time on Dynamite, and never said a word or did anything. When Kenny Omega was champion he got a 10+ minute segment every single week. Hangman is being booked as an afterthought every week.

****, the 'Owen Hart foundation memorial tournament' (whatever that is, I still don't know or care) is getting more attention then the AEW world championship.

Time for a title switch. Hangman is a belt chaser, not a belt holder.

Sammy's run has also put a damper on the TNT belt after Miro's awesome run. It's seemingly been Cody, Sammy, and Scorpio wrestling each other for months.

Hangman also portrays himself as a fighting man's champ and has defended the belt fewer times than any previous champ. He was probably never gonna be as popular as the other champs, but the booking hasn't done him and favors with him barely wrestling and barely speaking. I wonder if Punk takes the belt off him. 6 months is enough for Hangman. You need your champ to be mega over and carry the company.

I don't give a crap about the Owen Tourney either or why it's even important. Also, I don't want to see all these meaningless squash qualifying matches. Just show me a bracket with 8 wrestlers. Qualis could've been done on Dark or Elevation.

Hangman kinda got screwed by timing. He won the title just as Punk and Danielson and Cole and others were arriving on the scene, sucking up all the oxygen and excitement. The booking didn't do him too many favors, but when he has wrestled he has put on great matches.

He might need a heel turn. A violent attack on Punk with the motivation of being sick of facing all these AEW newcomers, when guys that have been around since day 1 aren't getting the opportunities they deserve.

To be fair, I'm not entirely sure why you would want me to watch, I think by now it's just a reality that I can't take too much of today's wrestling even though AEW generally does things well by today's standards. I'll still poke my head in from time to time.

Just a super old school match with countless callbacks and great psychology. JR and Punk were falling over themselves. I know you don’t like the show, but I do think you’d enjoy this particular match.
