Most matches and stories in wrestling are pretty predictable so when they surprise you or you don't know where they're going, it's special. MJF's promo was one of those moments. Is he turning babyface? Is he playing for sympathy so he can trick CM Punk later? Is he explaining the origin story of his villany? I don't know and I can't wait to find out.

This is why my favorite story atm is Bryan/Moxley impending team and probably stable. Are they gonna try to take over somehow? Recruit people and be a heel stable and whip everyone? Whoever came up with this idea get many props from me. Any thoughts from anyone about this story?

I enjoy the Punk/MJF feud a lot. Just thought the timing of the promo was poor. I think their match at the PPV will be awesome. And Punk has some experience with dog collar matches. He had one in ROH vs. Raven that was very good.

PPV shaping up to be good with that Punk/MJF match, Mox/Bryan should be violent as well, Jericho/Kingston will probably be pretty good. Not too sure on what other matches are aside from Hangman/Cole which I have no hope for.

Britt vs Thunder Rosa should be awesome and (hopefully) validating. Ladder match should be interesting. 3-way tag will certainly have some unexpected shenanigans.

I hope they pull the trigger on the Moxley/Danielson faction. I'm skeptical that they will because factions usually tend to have one top card wrestler to lead them and everyone else are mid-carders and lower. They tend not to put all their star power into one basket like that. The Elite would be the exception because they were a pre-existing group. And the will they/won't they tension is a way to generate drama. OTOH, they have been doing this story for a while and AEW tends to payoff long term stories. The fans I'm sure want it as well. This is another storyline I'm keenly following.

Punk/MJF segment was insanely predictable (and Punk looks like a moron) but it was enjoyable. Rest of the show was a no-hard no. That battle royal was the worst. Just waiting and waiting for it to end.

I was actually surprised at how much I liked the battle royale.

A+ blade job from Punk there. Kinda wish this ppv was on a Saturday because I'm ready now.

I don't understand how WWE's big PPVs still get separate threads with pretty decent traffic, but AEW's PPVs only get a handful of posts usually when AEW's product blows them out of the water.

PPV is playing across the street from me at a local movie theater - sort of tempted to check it out but not sure of my patience for a 4+ hour PPV outside my home

I did it for the last PPV with a buddy. Was a cool experience: theater had a full bar and was the reclining chairs so that was cool. But I actually wouldn't do it again.

It was just too dark of an atmosphere to be in for 4 hours. Found myself just getting tired because of the darkness. Would've been served better if they kept the dim lights on like for early previews or something.

Jfc Jericho takes a nasty bump right on his head to start show.

I thought about buying a theater ticket for this, but I was fearful that I would descend into a dystopian hellscape where the theater crowd was singing along with catchphrases.

Didn't see the pre-show stuff, but Jericho-Kingston has been solid.

I can barely sit through a 2 hour dynamite and that show is broken up by lots of promos and story stuff in between. 9 straight wrestling matches in a row would burn me out really quickly.

My upset picks are Reddragon to win the tag team title and Baker to retain the women's title.
