On their facebook page it said 108 entered and they played down to 13. Just less than 18 thousand dollars was added to the prize pool, so not as much as people thought

They'll be a lot more today. Sign-up line feels likes its a mile long and it's just 10:45.

It is sad day for me as I will miss the Goldstrike poker room. This is their last to pitch cards due to poor room management.

308 runners I seem to recall. They had 143 plus about 60 alternates Saturday. Just shy of $17k for first.

My boy chopped it 7 ways. He got the best at 10.5k. 2 others got 6k and 3 others got 5k. He had a 2 to 1 chip lead oe better vs other 6 stacks.

I chopped the 25k at the shoe last weekend 5 ways for 7.7k. Our crew is running good and playing well.

Goldstrike is already doing some construction up there. I have heard that they are moving the high limit room up there and finally putting up a curtain/glass that was requested by poker players for years.

Oh well. I don't know if I will ever set foot in GS again.

They said this weekend that they are putting in both slots and table games and making it a nonsmoking area.

Not sure I will ever set foot in there again, not much reason to without poker...

I typically only go to Tunica during the WSOP because the cash games at Harrah's are usually rocking. Couple of questions to those in the know:

1) How many NLHE cash game tables of 1/3 or 1/2 AND 2/5 typically run at Harrah's and the Horeshoe when the WSOP is NOT in town?

2) Besides the WSOP, what are some other times of year where people playing cash games and number of tables running them typically go up?

1) You can always use the Bravo Poker App to see how much is going on at Harrah's and Horseshoe. Horseshoe rocks pretty good on the weekends.

2) Any time there is a tournament series going on, it gets busier, especially the first weekend, but the WSOP is for sure the big dog. Also, 3-day weekends are good.

Horseshoe has been blowing up lately. There were 10 1/3 games and 3 2/5 games on Sat. night. But that is because of the new room and the Shoe has been advertising like crazy on local radio. There was also a decent sized tourney at GS that brought people in.

I heard Harrah's was pretty quiet all weekend.

I suspect once the newness of the room and the WSOP-CE has passed, Shoe will average 7-8 1/3 games and 2 2/5 games on the weekends.

Having played in the 4-8 O8 w/ HK game there Saturday night I have to wonder if it's always that juicy. Good god, those players are awful.

That's my general opinion when I've bothered to play the game at least on the weekends. STL is a tougher O8 market, believe it or not.

Yeah, I haven't updated my status and no longer live in STL, but I used to play the O8 games there every weekend and thought they were pretty soft, but nothing compared to what I saw at Horseshoe Tunica. (Of course, this is a sample size of one night.)

I've gravitated toward O8 because I've found that the "good" players are usually generally mediocre because the game is played so poorly. You sure have to deal with a lot of suckouts though!

Just back from playing 3 days (about 25 hours total) in that game. Whoo-ee !

One of my buddies stayed in the game from 9am till 2am. Just couldn't leave the table.

The ticket drawing promo for the poker room of $100 every hour (sometimes every 30 minutes) was kind of ok too. Plus the additional $50 per hour high hand promo for the O/8 game.
