Does anybody know when Rama got the bad beat for poker? Also does the 2/5 have it too? Thanks

I think Rama started the horrible BBJ rake for all its cash games around early December, and I will never play a cash game there ever again! Woodbine is much better with more hands per hour, no tipping, $5 max rake and no BBJ rake.

As posted @ 2014 WPT Fallsview Poker Classic, there is no wifi inside the casino. The closest wifi spot is in the lobby of the Fallsview Hotel just outside the main entrance to the casino. You are allowed to move your chair back when not in a hand to use electronics. You are also now allowed to use paper, pen, pencil or read a book at Fallsview. I plan to use my iPad Air Cellular during WPT Fallsview at the dealer changes and other long pauses.

I'll be playing at Great Blue Heron Casino next week. I don't know who Scottie Hartnell is but I can look for Chuck Norris.

If anybody at GBH wants any of the WPT Fallsview entry cards such as the sold-out Event #1, PM me.

Hey guys,
Going to be in Toronto for a week in February, am looking for some recent updates on the 2/5 scene in the Toronto area.
What's the best +ev place to play 2/5, considering the availability of games/table selection, rake, and skill level of players?

I have either fallsview or woodbine in mind.

Pro for woodbine is that it's closer for me to travel (assume I can stay for free in Toronto), and you see more hands per hour, but con is that I don't think there are usually more than 2 tables of 2/5 going, and just 1 short table when it gets late.

Pro of fallsview in my mind is that since the minimum stake is 2/5, perhaps the player skill level is comparable to the skill level of 1/2 in other casinos (I might be wrong, as I have read that there are many grinders in FV), and there will always be a game of 2/5 going, but however I don't know how I feel about paying the session fee every half hour as I dont play enough pots to justify exchanging rake for a session fee. (Ie. Im more like the type that wins one big pot/hour than few small pots, so in that case it's better for me to pay rake than session fee). Also, have to pay for hotel, however ****ty/cheap it is, it will still add up.

Any thoughts on where is more profitable to play 2/5 for someone in my situation?

With the WPT Fallsview going on, there's no question that Fallsview Casino is the place to be in all of Canada for at least until February 24. All 17 tables will be running on Friday and Saturday nights, including 3 WPT satellite tables, a couple of 5/10+, and the rest at 2/5.

Great point, but, will it be more -ev as it will attract more grinders and pros? (Never played in a casino during a tournament period so I have no idea what to expect, but to me if someone can pony up 5k+ for a tournament run then they must be somewhat decent, no?)

I've heard rumors of slight game mix changes at Woodbine that add more games for 2/5 and bigger, during peak times

Or they could be full fledge gambling addicts that should be at GA meetings. You will see a mix of competent to that the latter at the cash games and the tournaments. Obviously the addict types will be less, but where there is a big payoff the tilters will be there too.....

When will Woodbine finally add MTTs and extend the silly noon deadline of the SNGs? I used to be a Woodbine reg, but have switched to Fallsview, Brantford, GBH and Mohawk, without a single hand at Woodbine anymore.

I heard there were like 6x 2/5 tables on weekends. Anyone can attest to the action?

I wonder how the tables can be set up to run mtts.. they would all have to be synced somehow i imagine, and wonder if they make more cash rake than they would in mtt rake.

Also, if you are from toronto, it's hard to see how you can give up a shorter commute and less hands/hour?

PokerPro tables are fully MTT capable and are used regularly to run Daily / Weekly type MTTs in several locations.

All player's chipstacks, leaderboardsTop 10 Bottom 10, etc etc, all available in real time to view on player screens and big screen projectors. System suggests when to break tables, TD has final decision, but once agrees to break table, system moves all players by locking up seat for them at new table, awaiting for them to arrive and sign in.

This was a unique event, but here is pic of a large MTT in Mexico City several years ago in partnership with PokerStars and Casino Life. In this pic you can see "Feature table" displayed live on big screen on the stage.

It's been a no-brainer since the announcement of WPT Fallsview. As usual, all 17 tables at Fallsview were running on Friday and Saturday night. There were again a couple of 5/10 tables, but last night, a 10/25 table kept running until at least 3 AM.

The PokerTek MTTs that run in Mohawk, Western Fair and Georgian Downs racetracks are excellent. PTLou has to educate Woodbine managers that MTTs actually increase cash game action, not decrease. For example, when Casino Rama had tournaments every other Monday, both Woodbine and Fallsview would only have a few tables, but Rama will have all of its 12 tables running for a good part of the day.

does rama have 2/5 running all the time? 5/10 only runs on weekends right?

How's the action though, and player abilities, in comparison to woodbine?

Woodbine only has 1-3 tables for 2/5, mostly competent players, while Fallsview has up to 12 tables of 2/5, including some tourists and drunks from the bar beside the poker room.

It is generally agreed that cash games are most lucrative during a major tournament series, so there is no comparison on February 14-24.

Does woodbine run all night? I'm thinking of taking public transit there but may have to leave at like midnight unless it goes all night.

Anyone know the most recent distribution of limits at Fallsview between 2/5, 5/10 and 5/10+? I know there will be a lot more 5/10 running but I'm only interested in 2/5 and would like to know how many are running if at all with the Fallsview classic going.

If it is all 5/10 and the 2/5 is shifted to Casino Niagara, how many tables do they have running there at 2/5? As always, appreciate any information.

Fallsview is all 5/10+ now, there is 2/5 at Casino Niagara but don't know how many tables.
