This rumor goes around every year but this time it looks pretty solid that the World Poker Tour will be headed back to Fallsview in 2014. Seeing some pretty leading tweets (or at least those not denying) from Savage and Tessaro over last 24 hours and several rumors/reports that the poker room is posting sats, has the structures and is confirming this is happening.

Please post any info you get as this is sure to be big news!

Desk said the dates for the Classic were locked in as Feb 18 - Feb 24. The rumor of 4 tourneys is apparently false and it will be their standard 3 tourneys, which gives hope of an improved structure for the main (18/19 for the 1k, 20/21 for the 2.5k, and 22-24 for the 5k?)

They announced today it would be WPT....will be on website ASAP. 3 events all will have 600 spots and be 3 days $1,000, $2,5000 & $5,000K.

They started satellites today....well they lists going anyway as of 7pm they hadn't run one yet.

It looks like each day 3 starts at the same time as the next event day 1. How can they overlap without multiple day 1s?

Not sure but just 1 day 1 for each event I asked that today.

- final tables are on day 3 so if you make the final table you will have to skip the next event (or start late.)

- all events are capped at 600 with 50 alternates

- WPT chips and structure

- it is not televised

- $1,100 (sat: $245 - 2 spots)
- $2,500 (sat: $550 - 2 spots)
- $5,000 (sat: $1,050 - 2 spots)

WPT structure? All 3 events have the same structure this time?
What is it exactly? Level lengths/stacks etc?
What sites are running the sattys?
600 spots, when does preregistration open?
Sorry what does 50 alternates mean?
Alot of questions, Im excited haha

Having the 1k on a Tuesday is the worst. Also only having the 5k on the weekend. Doubt many rec players are taking a full week off work for this or firing off $5k when they don't have to take time off work on the weekend.

I guess maybe it won't matter with Fallsview's field caps, but I think the field size of the $5k is going to change very little based on the day of the week it starts whereas the field size of the 1K and 2.5k's would be significantly bigger if either of them started on a Friday/Saturday instead.

it doesn't really matter when the 1k is, it will sell out no matter what. Interested to see if the other two events sell out.

The 2.5k usually did in past and with now better 3 day WPT structure will very likely cap fast. The 5k pulled a few hundred before, prob see substantial growth now that title on the line

To be clear, the tournament structure was worked out by Matt Savage with Tino Trinci, the Fallsview TD. The events were restricted to a certain degree by room availability. This year will be a great event. Next year, even bigger. After successful events (3 of them!) in Montreal, I can't wait to see what we can do in Ontario!

I believe you can use MasterCard. All rumors seem to state that they're capping all events again at 600, and Ive still heard rumors that scalping will be "allowed" again.. NO structures have been announced and I know half of Canada and 1/6th of America want to know the structures.

The events are capped at 600 with 50 alternates. The buy-in procedures are the responsibility of the Fallsview, but they are well aware of the scalping issues in the past and I'm sure it's been addressed. Will confirm.
Also, I will endeavour to get a copy of the structures posted...

lack of cash tables will also continue this year (also confirmed)

deal was signed too late to address these issues (reason given)

standard WPT blind and payout structure (confirmed)
