Hello everybody. I'm not so long in FL, my area is PSL and Ft Pierce Jal-Alai is good, but prefer to play in WPB Kennel club, is any of you participating in their rebuy tourneys? I mean 30 buy in/20 addon for 10k guarantee and 5 buy in/20 addon for 5k guarantee is pretty sweet for IRL poker for me.

How are the 5-10 and 10/20 nl holdem games in Florida compared to Maryland live?

I know that on the weekends there is 5\10 game in WPB, but only 1 table usually, and sometimes they open up 2-5 pit game with 300-1000 buy ins. Never seen 10\20 game.

Fort Pierce Jal-Alaj is 2-5 max.
Rest-IDK.

They've been getting some pretty big games -- deep-stacked 2/5 up through 25/50 -- at the Isle in Pompano recently. How they compare to the games at Maryland Live I would have no way to know. I don't play them, I just know they go off with regularity these days.

I heard Florida has a lot of good poker with a pretty soft player pool. Is this still true?

I am looking to move for poker and want to scout out some rooms. Which rooms should I check out?

Hi all, I'm in WPB for the holidays and would really appreciate if someone could help me procure some fine bananas.

Looking forward to playing at the Kennel Club. Was there once before: an absolute madhouse, like traveling back to the good old days.

Can anybody here speak specifically to the 2/5 NL action in the area? I looked through the threads for the Isle, Hard Rock Hollywood, and WPBKC but the posts are few, far between, and don't really answer my questions.

So looking at primarily Isle, HRH, WPBKC...where is the softest opposition? I saw one post suggested Isle midweek and HRH on weekends.

(And how do comps & rake compare?)

Thanks, peeps!

Try them all. They are very different from each other. Comparing Isle to wpbkc is like comparing apples to onions. You just have to try them out and see what works for you. Take a look at their promotional schedules to plan out a visit.

Coconut Creek, Mardi Gras and Gulfstream are all nice rooms with 2-5 action as well.

Honestly it's very dependent on the tournaments and promotions running the rooms are so close to each other that the player pool often overlaps

I'm visiting South Florida next week for a few days and plan on playing a couple of 1/2 sessions. Options are the Isle, Coconut Creek and the Kennel Club in Palm Beach. Any suggestions on where to play or what advantages and disadvantages are of playing in each room.

The Isle and Coconut Creek are nice rooms, professionally run, both are fine choices. The Isle is bigger with more games running. Often, most of the 1-2 games at the Isle have lots of short stacks, not sure on Coconut Creek on that point. The Kennel Club is aptly named.

Follow the best high hand promos. They attract the most non-optimum players.

The Kennel Club has a mandatory $2 blind on the button to encourage action and prevent chopped pots. Also, they rake more aggressively if you take the pot down preflop.

But in the big picture there's no real difference between any if the 1-2 NL games anywhere in the Ft Lauderdale area. Try all 3 rooms and decide which one you like best.

FWIW coconut creek and the Isle have solid dining options and above average buffets. The kennel club, not so much.

I play in the northeast and I am used to buying in for the maximum at 1/2 ($ 300) and most players do so. At a new game - 10 handed - there is usually $ 2600 or so on the table. Do many buy in for the minimum and i should expect to be playing in a much smaller game.

I don't think I may enjoy playing in a game where most people have $ 60 stacks and are folding or pushing all-in.

Should I think about playing 2/5 & how much do most people buy-in at 2/5 ?

I'd play 2/5 if I were you as long as your bankroll can afford it. The Isle and Kennel Club have a $200-$500 buy in, and most people buy in for $300 or more. Coconut Creek's 2/5 doesn't always run, and when it does they might only have 1 table, but the buy in is $200-$1000.

I've done two extended visits. In my experience, you'll have to table select aggressively to find a 1-2 game that deep. Probably easier to find a shallow 2-5 lacking any grinders.

Haven't checked it out yet myself, but for those in the area, I wanted to note that Dania reopened a couple of days ago. I'm heading to Vegas in a couple of weeks, but if I get a chance to make it up to Danica before then, I'll do a brief TR.

use pokeratlas to see what rooms are 9 handed, 10 handed 50-200, 60-200, 50-300, 60-300, hardrock hollywood might be your best best becuz it is 100-300. Also during peak times any room will start a 1/3 interest list, and it sometimes runs. It sounds like you want 10 handed and lots o money on the table so choose accordingly. after hardrock i'd say isle pompano gets the most money on the 1/2 tables

I was at Gulfstream yesterday and another player at the table was talking about his experience playing at Dania a few days earlier, so the poker room is definitely open now.
