The CCC gets a bad rep. Any change in this area is going to have to be initiated by the casino. I really doubt it's because of taxes. You still have tax liability whether you get a W2G or not. Plus, the majority of tournaments in town aren't going to generate a high enough prize pool for W2G's to be used.

The WoodenKing returns to AC tonight for the 1st time in 2 months. I'll likely be at the Boat from 9 until around 2:30, and probably the same thing again tomorrow night.

I checked CCC web-site and couldn't find anything in their regulations regarding poker tournaments. I understand that casino protects its interests by not being involved in any chopping situation. On the other hand, it would be great if casino could consider players interests as well up to some extent.

Of course they get a bad rep, they know nothing about poker and somehow created regulations for the game.

any update on the BBJ

BBJ was 266 last night.

Even though x-Rod did his best (AK vs AQ on an AQ7 flop) to clean me out, I got it all back and more on a serious cooler, literally 8 minutes before I had to leave for my bus.

Board is 752-K-7. Pot is already huge on the turn, when he check-raises me, and I smooth call. He moves all in on the river and I call. He has K7, I have KK. I started the hand with about $370, and villain has me covered.

the character of the night had to be the dude who put on the fake accent at the top of his lungs for about 4 hours. of all nights for me to forget my headphones, of course this was it.


i played from about 1a-8a sunday and then again from about 1p-7p after 2 hours of shuteye in my car and 2 hours on the beach. pretty volatile night for me as i was up a good bit and then back to even about 4 times, but ended up doubling my original $300 investment. not too bad i suppose.

heres a funny little story. this younger, professional looking black girl was sitting to my right for awhile. she said she was a regular 2/5 player at the taj but was playing at the boat for the bbj. we chatted a little bit, not much (she seemed very friendly and fairly decent), and this hand came up. she raises preflop to 10, i flat call with ak and the flop is kq3. she bets out 20, i call planning on raising the turn. she checks the turn, i bet out 30, she calls. i bet 45 on the river and she calls and mucks quickly claiming she had a king. she then gets super offended that i bet into her since she claimed she was friendly checking it to me. seemed like i really hurt her feelings. she ignored me for the next 10 minutes and then changed tables. oh well.

Thought that was you.. If I remember correctly, I didn't treat you too well last night. I don't remember the exact hand, but I remember a pretty sick river card I threw out there, sorry dude

That guy with the accent was certainly a character. I had a pretty bad headache when I went to work, and he just made it worse.. kept calling me "mate" and looking at my name tag to make sure my name was Michael as for some reason he didn't believe me.. lol He kept saying "no, the other guy is Michael, what's your name?"

boat has a poker rate now? i thought this was something they were working on but was not established yet. is this confirmed to be true that it exists?

Have 2-5 or bigger games been spread with the bad beat being so high and bringing in more people? I would love to play a bit at the Boat but need at least a 2-5 game to make it worth the trip.

There's often a 2/5 game filled mostly with regulars who like to kick it up to 5/5 whenever they get everyone to agree.

Does this run every day?
