I do believe this is the ShowBoat poker thread, so please, take you're anti-boat advertising elsewhere..

The purpose of this thread is for both props and constructive criticism of the room, as the Mikes have done a wonderful job of helping improve the room after people have brought up their issues.

Without complaints by those of us who've either missed out on hours logged in the room or received the old finger-wave from the brush, none of these issues would have been resolved nearly as quickly as they have. Similarly, without the advent of this thread, many 2p2ers may not have been lucky enough to meet either of the Mikes or any other solid dealer at the Boat.

This thread is open to both positive and negative feedback, and I feel that my description of what I like about Harrah's may bring upon improvements to Showboat.

I agree with mattyspin here. With very few exceptions, the only criticism towards the 'Boat has been constructive & intelligent. It has also been well received by the necessary 'Boat people who read this. In fact, before I started reading this thread, I never even considered playing at the Showboat, now I make a point to play there.

Deadcell, it does upset me too when people are upset with the poker room and post it here but only because I feel like it is out of my hands sometimes. I love the fact that you guys can come here and I can be the middle man and try and get things done. There was a time that there was nothing positive coming from this thread and I got super frustrated. I think now we are listening and doing our best for you guys. With the Showboat being the Showboat sometimes our best is not good enough, but I am happy the you acknowledge me and Mike trying hard. That is all I can do. You will not find any dealers in any other poker room in the country or the world doing this for you guys.

Lets just keep things constructive and intelligent...and positive.

And this is exactly why I will always put my $$$ down on a Showboat table every time I visit AC from now on.

Thanks jesster, looking forward to meeting you.

Matt et. all..

I wasn't being negative about your constructive criticism, but any means. I'm a firm believer in it, in life and business alike.

But coming in and promoting Harrah's room isn't constructive at all, etc.

Anyway, It seems the 'Boat is getting better with the Rewards Points fiasco... good!

I am officially done with the showboat. I have been a big supporter in this room playing approx. 30 times in the last year. I went to the showboat on monday at 1 in the afternoon. I walked up to the desk and waited a good 3-4 minutes,....ok people are busy. The 2 "suits" are on the other side of the wall talking to eachother not paying attention. Finally a very nice female dealer asked me if I had been helped yet. I said no and asked for a 1-2nl seat, which there was open seating. She said get some chips, I look over and see about ten guys all in line for tournament business for the one window open. I ask to buy in at the table that only has 7 guys playing at it, the dealer sees the line and says no problem. I walk towards the table and the "suit" interjects saying I have to wait in line like everybody else. Now, I have absolutely no problem waiting in line, if each guy didn't have his license and showboat card in their hands and had to fill out the papers. Nobody buying in for cash games. That's a good 15 minute wait for no reason.
It's ashame because the dealers are the best in ac imho. I walked away and went to the taj, not to return to the showboat anytime soon. sorry for the long rant.

How busy is this room nowadays? I haven't been there since they remodeled.

I'm either going to stay here tonight or at the Harrahs, which allows me to play at borgata.

Mattyspin isn't the Matt that got promoted to the new room at Harrahs from Showboat is it? Because that would make a lot of sense.

Sorry Detective Sandman. I'm probably a lot smarter, better looking, and articulate than that guy anyway.

I've been a proponent of the Boat's dealers and everything Harrah's offers as a poker room. Some of the Boat's sucklers have tried to villainize me due to a small amount of honest and helpful criticism in this thread.

I'm pretty sure everything I've stated in this thread has been constructive, productive, and well thought-out. Some people (NOT xxrod or NJMike) are a little too sensitive around here.

Just got back from the Boat. Played from about 4:30pm to 10pm tonight. I was at table 9 in seat 10... with the giant stack of chips

There was apparently some thing upstairs with free alcohol samples and girls wearing cowboy outfits and fishnets - never made it up there myself, although I appreciated several of the players at my table checking it out, then stumbling back to their seats.

Rod, where you been? I haven't seen you the last two times I've been at the Boat. Although I have left around 10pm both times, so that might explain it.

Will be in town this weekend and will be trying to get by the Showboat, because hey, they sent me $15 in free slot play, randomly.
04-07-2009 , 11:21 AM
Will be in AC on Thursday night and I want to play a tournament with my Dad. How's the Thursday 7pm 53+12? How many people? Structure? Any other thoughts...

Thanks in advance!

Will be at the Boat on Monday afternoon, keeping the 1-2NL games alive. I'll be trying out my new Full Tilt hoodie I got recently, so that everyone will know I usually play on the interwebs :P
04-10-2009 , 08:35 AM
I heard from someone that you earn 75 tier credits an hour playing 5/5 at the boat. Can anyone confirm this? I prefer to play elsewhere, but I'm a little off pace to get a seven stars card so this could entice me to come over on the weekends.
04-10-2009 , 11:38 AM
How far off pace? You need 100,000 tier credits for seven stars. 75 per hour probably isn't a good way to get back on pace. I can't confirm you get 75 per hour though.
04-10-2009 , 01:05 PM
was at the boat all day yesterday. up 715. action was so soft. ill be there again sun thru tuesday.
04-10-2009 , 03:26 PM

04-10-2009 , 04:02 PM
The Powers that be are letting you work saturdays again mike? lol
Actually I think I'll be down the following weekend, I am gonna get my brother down there w/ me to play the 2/7pm tournies, and build a wall @ 1/2....
