Lol, I am glad to see that the location of the room is no longer an issue!

I think you and your staff did the best you could with the hand you were dealt. Keep us updated (somehow) where you'll land next. The Borg could use your help, somewhat.

Hi dipce, should the Bad Beat hit prior to all the promotion fund money being distributed, the room will remain open. As long as there is one table going in the room, the Fund should be depleted prior to the 15th (Around the 9th). In the event the Bad Beat does not hit, there are 2 options we are submitted for which will be decided upon to satify the reconciliation of the Bad Beat. Either a drawing on the 15th or moving 2 or more tables down stairs, staffed through Table Games, to continue play until it hits.

Agreed. For more than 15 months they've been looking down their noses at the best run room, with the best comps in AC, and now they're packing the place because they have about $4 in EV per hour from the BBJ. I wonder what the dealers must be thinking.

Just wondering....is the $1 BBJ drop still being taken?

What are the chances of Poker coming back once online goes live in NJ? Is Revel looking at that avenue (lately)? What are the plans for the room once it goes dark?
07-30-2013 , 10:47 AM
Horrible to hear but not unexpected. They should have placed the room on the first floor to get more traffic... Well run room and was very nice IMO.
Wish I was there for the Bbj promo going on!

Frankie, how prepared are you dealer-wise for all the chasers that might show up on the weekend? How many tables can you have going?

“After careful consideration and in an effort to further improve the overall operating performance of Revel Casino Hotel, management has made the decision to close our poker room operations effective August, 2013.”

“Offering poker as an amenity on the property will be considered in the future as a component of an overall strategy related to our online opportunities. We have a very talented team of professionals who work in poker operations and we are actively working to place as many as we can in other areas.”

Frankie and Staff did an excellent job when the room was functional. Let's not upset the staff or the poker room by magnifying small and petty issues.

Any issues related to room bookings/availability please deal with them through a PM to Frankie or to the respective personnel.

Remember that a primary reason this forum exists is to help efficiently distribute information. Openly posting the questions and answers here is much more efficient than dozens of PMs to Frank and contacting other personnel who have plenty else to do. It's not being critical of anyone just because it's being asked in a forum. It's the best place to do it to make it easier on the entire staff. It's actually being respectful of their time to post about it here. Just like answering questions about the BBJP here should help eliminate questions to the floor about it, which happened over and over and over yesterday.

Totally agree. I am all for disseminating useful information.

What I was trying to target was:
* Complaints about dealers being slow or unable to effectively run the table
* Questioning the training methods of the staff
* Repeated questions about comps and room availability when the mothership is sinking
* Repeated questions about bad beat eligibility and questions

One PM to Frankie and a response here after resolution is a lot faster. Not to mention his response time for queries/questions have always been the fastest.

It was a good room, they were good people, we all can bear a "little inconvenience" during this hour.

there is enough staff should everyone be here for their shift.

Frankie - based on my reading of the past 50 or so pages, I'm guessing you were working this room around this time last year. My wife and I made the journey there 2x during our weeklong stay at the jersey shore (Avalon). We found the room appealing (other than it being hidden) and the staff to be the best we had encountered. I came here to get the latest updates to see if we should head up there tomorrow. Needless to say, i was disappointed after reading about the room gaining momentum only to see that the decision makers pulled the plug.

The fact that someone as talented as yourself remains there tells me it's likely they are keeping you on in another capacity. If not, however, MD Live Casino is opening their poker room later this month (at least that is he plan). They will be the first room to open in md and they will get a year or more head start on nailing down poker loyalty prior to the casino openings in Baltimore and at national harbor. They could really use a guy like you.

All the best in whatever your next venture may be. If we do decide on revel
tomorrow, I'll pass along these wishes in person.

Not to worry, if it accidentally gets dropped we can get the dollar out and back into the pot so no one is shorted!

Thank you and yes I have been here since day one. After working in Delaware the 2 years prior to returning to AC, I have kept up to date on MD poker. Im pretty sure their staffing is already finalized but thank you for the recomendation. Please come down and enjoy the Jersey Shore, I may not be here...taking my son to his Freshman orientation at college. Will be back by Friday. As always feel free to contact me at 609 437 5688. Thanks and enjoy your stay!

I understand, and I think we're on the same page.

btw, to be clear on part of my post, I didn't mean to say that the floor had to answer the BBJP questions over and over again because they were giving wrong answers. I just know they had to field those questions a lot because there are a lot of players all wanting to know the same thing.

I happened to be sitting in the seat closest to the podium 6am Monday when the lone floor person there kept having to answer a bunch of questions, all while she was extremely busy seating players, calling to get more dealers, keeping track of the latest high hand, filling in for dealers when they needed to go to the bathroom (because they didn't have a down for a break at first), etc.

ok, but my two cents is that I have a lot more confidence in whatever you choose to do to distribute the bbjp on or before the 15th, than the confidence I have in some decision a Tables Games manager unfamiliar with poker is going to make at 3am on August 26th. So, I pray you find a way to make sure you are in charge when the bbjp funds are distributed, lol.

If JJ losing to QQ on AAAxx board qualifies for the BBJ, I think it's a pretty safe bet that it will hit before August 15th with how many games they've been spreading
07-30-2013 , 05:12 PM
Current Live Games
2-5 NL Holdem 2
1-2 NL Holdem 12
Current Waiting List
1-2 NL Holdem 13

More 1-2 games than Borgata.

What could have been....
