Having playing in Revel's poker room 4-6 times, it was a beautiful room with some great dealers, and service, but the awful location was a downfall they couldn't overcome. Best of luck to Frankie and the rest of the poker dealers/staff.

No they are all standard games. With plenty of action... They will not spread 2/4.

more games at Revel than Borgata this morning. The game I was in was
pretty nitty, yes. there was a 2/4 list with ten names on it this morning. But when I showed up w/my crew of 2/4 players I was told only two games would be offered: I had a choice between 1/2 and 1/2. After some reflection I decided on 1/2. Frankie, if I play 30 hours this week, do I still get two free rooms in September or October? And I see hell freezing over before the top execs allow poker tables on the main casino floor, so how do I go about putting my name in the hat to get some of the money on August 15th? I have to put in how many hours from when to when? AAA33 won the 11am...Ace high could win the $500, but expect a full house or better, depends on the number of tables going...there are 12 live games of 1-2 going on now. Wow! May we please have one 2-4 LHE on Mondays and Saturdays?

I cannot believe that people are still asking for free rooms given that the owners of the place are closing the room. You're not the only one who asked about this although the people who already have reservations at least have a reason to think their rooms might still be there.

The poker room is closing. The only reason it wasn't just down with no notice at all was because they had to distribute the bad beat funds in some way. You really think that the casino owners really give a damn that you chased the bad beat in a room that is not only dying, but dying because they killed it since they believed it was unprofitable?

Poker players have such a sense of entitlement. Not always, not all players, but way too many of them.

In general I agree. But there was no mention that the comp room promotion was to cease immediately, so there is no harm in asking.

edit: I stand corrected. Straight from the horse's mouth.

the reason I ask, is because one of the players at my table said the room offer stands, that he was told that this morning by someone at the front desk of the poker room, and that he was going to play 8 hours today to get his free room. Frankly, like you, I was surprised since I thought 'all other promotions and tournaments are cancelled immediately' might include room offers. I feel the love from the top execs for the poker room.

And I ask about the drawing ('Bad Beat or Promo funds remaining on the 15th of August will be settled via drawing') because I did not get an answer to this question when I asked a guy who claimed he was in charge, lol, but later acted like he had been on vacation for the past week, and had not absorbed the recent changes...the problem may be that there are managers on the floor giving out the wrong information, - seems like an announcement letting people know they are no longer playing for comped rooms is indicated, if that is true?!

The Bravo information says "In addition, all other promotions and tournaments are cancelled immediately" since yesterday.

Where are we flying to now Birdy?

Make sure your high hand has at least $20 in the pot. I checked my J high straight flush otr like an idiot thinking it just had to go to showdown. Fine print ftl.

Has nothing to do with FINE print....our High Hand Rules that we have ran since we opened have always called for 6 players on the game and $20 in the pot. There is a difference between not knowing our rules and FINE print. Thanks

Just to be clear...ALL other promotions and tournaments other than the Bad Beat, the new High Hand and the final few days of Rake Back have been cancelled immediately as of 7/28/13. Thank you

Absolutely understand. It was entirely my fault for not knowing. Room is being very well run right now considering the huge increase in traffic/promotions.

Is it confirmed that the high hand does not have to go to showdown?

Does this include comped rooms that were booked prior to 7/28?

only the table is paid, I think like 50%, 25%, 25%;
can't remember if you need to be dealt in the hand,
or have not missed your blinds to be eligible.
I confirmed tonight they will not spread 2/4,
no more comped rooms from poker play,
and no one knows about the distribution of the bbjp
funds if it
does not get hit by 8/15,
which means it may be any Aces full
by the end of the week,
and cracked queens at 4pm on 8/15, lol.
The room was packed and run very well tonight.
They had table game dealers come deal poker.
All of my dealers were excellent.
It is going to be very hard to have so many
competent staff out of work.
Go pay your respects now and tip the dealers!
15 Live games, 10pm, Monday night! Wow!

Were you able to confirm the status of existing booked comp reservations? And status of those comped rooms that are owed (and not yet booked)? Those seem to be the major 2 uncertainties that people are concerned about.
07-29-2013 , 10:27 PM
I don't know, will put it on my list of questions for tomorrow!

Only not 2/4, or not limit at all? (Since I'm the one who posted just before the news saying I need a limit game Saturday.)

Thanks for combing over the fine points for us!

Frankie,
Sorry to hear about the room closing. The Revel had become my favorite place to play on the boardwalk. It seemed like you were beginning to turn the corner, but i only really get down there on weekends. Good luck to you and the rest of the Revel poker staff. Whatever the problem was it never had anything to do with the staff, who i always thought were excellent.
