Is there a reason the 5-10 NLH and the 15-30 LH are designated as hi limit in the live game report? Is that designation reserved for time games?

Because now they get $2/hour comps.

I haven't used any of my comps yet. I'm sure I've got quite a bit in my account now. I have no idea what I'd possibly use the comp dollars to buy. I'd rather them lower the rake by $2. Can I use my comps to pay rake?

15/30 Stud this weekend? Anyone?

Half rake (assuming that offer still stands)

How about a rotation of 15/30 stud and stud8? Would the half rake offer go for that too? Interest? 15/30 HOSE would be fun too.

I'd love to play in this game, although I'm not sure if I would be able to make it to Parx the next couple weekends. But I certainly hope this sort of game can get spread.

Bri/Nick, hope we have others out there like you..anyone else? It would be an awesome game.

But as I mentioned, I'm up for anything..don't have to go for a grandslam right off the bat

I'd play just 15/30 Stud, rotation with Stud H/L or the Hose..or even something like 15/30 Stud with 2/5 NLHE

Why would they get more comps if they pay the same rake? Then the $4-8 limit games should have a $3 rake. I don't think its long term sustainable to do $5.

I don't really understand why high limit players get more perks than us 2/5 fish. They pay less rake than us, and thus the casino makes less money from them (yes theyre paying time. I pay time at the borgata for 2/5 too). Bigger drinks, can eat food at the tables and now $2/hr comps? whatev.

Is 2/5 NLHE raked or timed?

I'm pretty sure that the 8/16 limit game pays $5 while 15/30 pays $6 - I never really understood that. I guess the $2 extra comp takes care of that.

The few higher limit games do add just a little bit of added value to a cardroom in my opinion. I could see giving them a little bit of extra perks. However, as noted earlier in this thread, Parx doesn't exactly bend over backwards for them in all cases.

I'm in if this gets going. Friday or Saturday is good for me.

Is it really that obvious that the lower limits are paying more rake than the high limit players? Yes, the lower limits pay a much higher rake relative to the bet sizing of the games, but I would think it comes down to the casino making more actual money from the higher limit time games. Regardless, one perk for the casino is that they are guaranteed to make the same bunch of money regardless of how slow the dealers are or how long players take to make decisions.

Had a relatively uneventful night there Saturday. Played from 7:30 to a little before 2. For 5 hours was relatively car dead. Picked up a couple small pots, lost a few. Down ~$120, stack ~$280 I pick up AJ and raise to 10 in MP. CO (~$400) calls, SB (~$170) calls.

Flop is KQ5. I lead out for $20, CO raises to $55, SB calls, I call.

Turn T. Checked to CO who bets $100, SB calls, I raise all-in, CO calls, SB calls all-in for like $15 more. River is some meaningless low red card. I show my straight, CO shows K7, SB mucks.

Left about an hour after that after losing a couple small pots.

Well I figure they make pretty much on average $3-5 a hand that sees a flop at 2/5, and lets say they play 50 hands an hour (just a guess), whereas 5/10 players pay $6? every half hour? so thats a guranteed $108 an hour if the table is full. So $250/hr (if 50 hands at $5 raked a hand) vs $108... seems like less money. Someone correct my hands/hr, and other values if I'm wrong. But I guess each player has to pay $12/hr whereas you only have to pay rake if you play the hand, so it makes more sense that way...

Also to the posts above. 2/5 is raked at PARX, you pay time at the borgata. Also was playing with a guy who normally plays 5/10 at 2/5 the other day. The waitress brought him a drink in a larger cup. One of the other players asked why it was bigger, and the waitress explained its because he normally plays 5/10.

30? 20

Yeah. Live poker gets about 25-30 hands per hour. Closer to 30 with a good dealer and a shufflemaster. This is counting hands that don't see a flop, or limited flop action, etc. (i.e. low/no rake.)

Bigger games pay more rake/time than smaller games.

I checked at 9 am this morning and it said online that the 15/30 Limit holdem was running.

Did this go all night? Does it last all weekend?

There were two games from around 11-2, the must move was small though we were playing 3 handed for awhile. The main game was close to full around 4am so pretty sure it was the same game. The game is fairly regular and getting stronger every week. It always runs at some point in the day. It doesn't tend to run 24 hours yet though. 6am-2pm is the definite soft spot, and you are not likely to play then even on a weekend.
