I'm not going to name names; but this is going to be a regular winner who puts in a lot of hours in the 30-60 game. There are two props that fill the bill, but because they are props they can find themselves shut out of the game because they are playing 2-4 stud or some other rake trap. (I'm guessing that you aren't counting a prop's hourly wage here.) I can think of two or three other potential candidates.

Since there's a rash of it, employee names here are only to be given when providing helpful directions, e.g. "Please see Bill at the board, he can help you find a game" or "John is the night manager, and can help answer your question."

And before you name the high-winning props:

Privacy of non-famous players and card room employees: Do not post the names of non-celebrity players. Even though poker games happen in public, these players do have some expectation of privacy. Do not post reviews or information about named casino employees. Badge-wearing, customer-facing employees may be mentioned by name only when providing information or directions.

No ****. But they don't want the answer - they just want me to be wrong But I'm right so eat a sausage. I believe what senior Oaks staff said on the matter and have no reason not to. You don't and you don't want to verify, and you don't want to put your money on the line, fine. Money talks bull**** walks. Keep thinking Oaks is still forbidden to spread no limit. I couldn't give more of a ****.

P.S. Oaks sucks.

Oh, you say you're right?

Well, that's been a pretty reliable indicator in the past.

Obviously, I'm no mastermind.

The answer is clear to me now. Purplebliss will open his open cardroom in the Eastbay where they will spread "true no-limit hold'em" and the guards will be armed. Oaks regs and 2+2 posters will not be allowed.

(Sorry if this is feeding the troll, but this is one of my favorite threads on 2+2)

I don't know what you're talking about. The guards at the Oaks are armed.

Guys, guys, this is supposed to be "Emeryville's Friendliest"!

I know I don't have to come to this page or anything, but I keep hoping to find good stuff, not this...can we call a truce to the pissing match?

Emeryville is a pretty rough neighborhood. Imagine how the least friendly act.

Hey guys,

Coming back to Berkeley in early June for wedding and would like to play at Oaks again but I completely forget the games they spread. Looking for O8, lhe, or nl from mid stakes down to a step or two above the lowest stakes. Also, if there is anything in particular I should note. Thx for the feedback.

Lo8 4/8 HK, 6/12 1/3K
LHE 1/2 3/6 6/12 15/30 30/60
SLHE 2-100, 4-200

TY sir. Love that they have 1-2 so my wife can lose half as fast. Looks like o8, 6-12 lhe, or spread for me. I particularly getting berated by players all over the world, so hopefully there will be some extra grumpy old timers.

Last ?: What's the max buy in for the spread games? CA big bet games seem to have oddly low max buy in IIRC.

$400 max buyin for the 2-4 blind game. I believe it's $200 max buyin for the smaller game.

6/12 is a real mix. But you'll get berated for sure, and the old men in 6/12 are pretty grumpy.

One other thing: Oaks SLHE is 2 to limp on 2-100 and 4 to limp on 4-200. Other places with similar structures are 1/2 blinds but 4 to limp.

I haven't seen them spread 1/2 LHE for awhile now (a few months at least).

I've noticed other games on Table 5 besides 1/2 but just assumed it had moved elsewhere.

This is crazy-talk. Food at CG is far superior. They even have salads with vegetables that did not come out of a freezer. The Vietnamese menu is a step in the right direction though.

I have never had a salad at CG but the lunch menu and maybe 2/3 of what I've tried off the main menu is just horrible, with 1-2 items I'm actually excited about eating. Similar to the Oaks.

is it just me, or the reception at oaks just the worst. dont know if its my phone or AT&T or just bad in general

It's AT&T. I switched to Verizon, and it works fine everywhere in Oaks. In fact Verizon's coverage is superior to AT&T's in many Bay Area locations.
