All the NH rooms are typically closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. But in 2020, who knows.

Is Holiday Inn worth the extra $60 over Motel 6 IRT quality/location?

It's been 10+ years since I've stayed in either, traveling solo so as long as neither is a total dump, I'm fine with it. Don't mind a 20-25 min walk each way to BBC (taking a bus there from Boston).

Looking strictly at the pictures alone holiday Inn is much nicer than motel 6. Don't suffer to save a few bucks. If you're making that much effort be comfortable.. to me it's 3* vs 2*....

Never stayed at that Holiday Inn, but I've been in it and it's......meh, or at least it was a few years ago. Perhaps it's been upgraded or modernized in the interim. You can walk to BBC from there in less than 20 minutes. If it's the Motel 6 that I'm thinking of, it's a few exits away and I've only seen it from the outside when passing on the highway, but it looked better than I would've expected. One other piece of advice I'd give is going by online reviews can be tricky, as usually something like one out of every ten satisfied guests bothers to leave a review, whereas the rate of unsatisfied is much higher. As always, YMMV. Good luck at the tables and be well.

Roach Motel > Motel 6

I’ve stayed at that Holiday Inn on BBC road trips this past fall. It’s a solid 3* but to me the gap from 2* to 3* is enormous. Not even sure that a Motel 6 even reaches a 2* and that’s enough uncertainty to make the Holiday Inn a no-brainer.

The Holiday Inn is easily worth an extra $30/nite.

The Motel 6 North Nashua is about 1.3 miles away and the Holiday Inn is about a long half mile walk from BBC&C.

The Holiday Inn being a much shorter walk is important to me.

So looks like Chaser's fills up shortly after opening most days now and has lengthly lists always in the evenings. How long are you guys normally waiting to get a seat if you show up at say 6pm? What do you do to kill the time waiting / where do you wait?

Looks like Chaser's is moving from their current location to the abandoned KMart building down the street.


Their new layout will be approximately 15 times bigger than their current one.


Makes two things apparent to me:

1. They are betting that poker is permanently gassed at Encore making this a great business decision to capitalize on the fact that there's no poker anywhere in Mass once again. If Encore were to reopen poker in the same sized room they had before this wouldn't be a wise decision for Chasers though seeing as Encores previous launch put the squeeze on Chasers that led to downsizing.

2. Looks like they are trying to crush Boston Billiards which imho has made great inroads in the NH poker scene in the last few years... hell they already crushed Cheers (or did Cheers crush themselves?) so why not Boston Billiards next?

I think that is great for chasers and poker. More space for people to wait comfortably, eat, more bathrooms hopefully, or at least more space.

They would most likely have their own bar and food offerings and not be stuck with the Lims, since they refused to sell years ago, but that is for them as a company's bottom line and I'm not an owner so I don't really care all that much as long as can get something drink or eat.

I remember pre-Encore open they mentioned ideas of expanding parking lot to the police station in its existing place and they had bid & lost on bid for old toys R us.

They are making some decent money and the charities are winning so why not take a gamble.


Any projected timeline for this to happen?

They've been looking to get out of that building since day 1. I don't think renewing a lease is what they have in mind.

I see Chasers is having a double high hands for a week starting 4/18 ( see Bravo for details ).

Havent been here for a year (covid concerns ). If I was to go on a Sunday, how early do people get in line and what about getting on wait list ? Does that take precedence ?

The wait lists are already crazy here. Will be a zoo with double payouts.

NH Gov just said that mask mandate will end "soon"

So the mask mandate ends today in NH. I guess it's up to individual establishments/businesses to determine their mask policy.

Curious what the various poker rooms will do. Any reports to changes in policy would be appreciated.
