I was there Sunday night and held off eating when I noticed the price increases.

I use to like to take a break and eat here, that will be happening less often now.

I cannot stand paying more than $12 for a Cheeseburger.
If I don't bring something, I always eat next door at Mary-Ann's. Prices are better, variety is better, execution is better, and food comes out fast. I can walk next door, order and eat a steak tips and eggs meal and be back inside Chasers in less than 20 minutes.

Boston Billiard Poker Room in Nashua NH promotion.

Quote:
"With tables now limited to 6 we have decreased our rake to a MAXIMUM of $4 for all cash games."

"The lowest rake, and best value for players... across NH and beyond."
This promo should help put some 'fannies in the seats'.

4 bucks at 2/5 is very good, but I don't think it's been spread once since they reopened

“mask optional” room in New Hampshire is engaging in an active attempt to cover up an outbreak among staff and players

Source? That's a pretty serious accusation, I can't let that stay based just on rumor.

okay - please delete my post then

I heard it from a dealer that is genuinely upset with how reckless management is being and I didn’t name any specific room.

it’s absolutely insane the mask optional rooms want the “freedom” to put their customers and staff at increased risk but refuse to accept any responsibility when those decisions backfire.

I can believe this.

The room has low ceilings, I assume poor air circulation (lack of fresh air),
and is packed with players, and people waiting to play. Yes, sometimes they make 'waiting players' go outside to wait, sometimes they don't.

Can someone confirm if the Casino part of the poker room has been closed this week ? A person told me this, but he is prone to misinformation.

Myself, I played there 3 times, and decided not to go back for health reasons. My health is questionable to say the least, and I just gotta knock off taking unnecessary chances in catching the Coronavirus.

That said, I've been to the Nashua and Seabrook rooms, and recently started going to the Boston Encore to degen non-poker stuff, so I'm a bit of a hypocrite about protecting myself.

Of all the places I've been, Chasers scares me the most, the place is packed, has low ceilings, plenty of maskless players (50%), and plenty of unsavory looking characters.

Hot take: no where is 100% safe with mask or no mask. Make your own individual risk assessment on whether to play or not.

The debate on rooms with masks being mandatory or optional is irrelevant anyways.

Even if wearing masks. As if it is this magic space suit.. Most people aren't gonna wear masks 100% perfect at all times. They will drink or pull down to breath

Is anyone surprised places might not post in these forums if there was a real issue more than rumor?

The rooms are benefiting from Encore, twin, mgm Springfield, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods not open...they probably are printing money at this point.

Yup it looks like it's running these days and also 5/10 has been kicking off. My post was a bit back, they've had nice traffic looking at Bravo daily.

Grund on the covid thing: Likely a complete lie by an employee that wants to not work and collect UE instead.

Not sure if this infection story is the same as it one a couple weeks ago, but there was a dealer with confirmed infection, at The River if I recall correctly.

NH max unemployment is around $430/week, even with the $600 kicker most dealers would be taking a decent pay cut to do such a thing and the only way to collect while your employer is open is to have medical advice to self-quarantine, test positive, and/or have lack of usual childcare due to COVID closure. No info from NH on whether these allowances will continue next week as the CARES Act expires and even if they do the $600 is going away for sure.

How is that “likely”? Because your galaxy brain told you so?

Because the daily average of NH right now is ~20 and the chances of contracting is basically 0? I'll take the odds there wasn't a random outbreak in a singular venue that just so happens to be a poker room.

Because people from MA and elsewhere aren’t coming to these rooms. Manchester (masks optional!) posted their final table a couple days ago and there were players just at the final table from five different states.

I guess you think it’s impossible for one case of 20 a day to make it into a poker room? Or it’s impossible that it would spread once there, indoors, for extended periods of time, with masks optional, and not especially good ventilation, and shared surfaces?

But sure, I guess some dealer is.. what’s your theory here? 1) Pretend there’s a Covid outbreak 2) ??? 3) Profit?

Sorry, not just a theory, likely. Confirmed by thinking about it.

There are approximately 20 new cases in the entire state of NH per day out of a 1.36 million population, so were most of these 20 cases at a single room in NH qualifying this as an "outbreak" as the poster is implying? I think we all know that answer is definitely no!!!

This post is also erroneous because the poster would lead you to believe by his wording that masks are also optional for staff which is incorrect... staff is required to wear masks at all times while working.

If masks are the wonder cure as this poster is implying how did ANY of the staff test positive seeing they are wearing masks all the time? If you expect your narrative to be bought then zero of the staff should have tested positive.

I've played in NH rooms recently and was shocked by how many people were maskless in a tight indoor area but that doesn't mean I'd use this forum to spread rumors that have absolutely no shred of substantiated credibility. This is the exact type of misinformation that is NOT needed on here and I'm surprised that Latt hasn't deleted this fear mongering type of nonsense already. I'm not here to preach promask or antimask just saying that posts like the poster made have no place here without real facts to back them up.

My guess: Sounds like someone who has an axe to grind with the NH poker rooms... I think most people can figure out that short list... but then again it's just a guess.

To be fair, the benefit of a mask is for those around the person, not the wearer. Therefore, dealers wearing masks and being surrounded by players who refuse to wear them, means a dealer would be susceptible. And not every room requires cloth face coverings in compliance with the published guidelines. A quick scan of Manchester's final table Facebook posts and you'll see dealers only wearing a face shield.

This depends who you ask, for every person who tells you that there is someone else that will tell you different. For Chri$t sake the first few months of this thing they told us NOT to wear a mask...

BTW: My point isn't to engage in a mask debate but to simply state that to come on here and post that there is an "outbreak" AND a "coverup" in a poker room with ZERO facts to back it up is not right!!!

I can acknowledge the use of the word "outbreak" is inaccurate, but truth is there was an infected employee working and the room didn't tell anyone (reminder: not sure if the incident I know of and the one just brought up are the same one, since the comment didn't name the room). So I don't think the criticism is entirely unwarranted. Honestly, I have significant doubts any of the NH rooms, even my favorite ones that I ordinarily trust, would notify staff or customers of any reported positive cases. It would likely boil down to word of mouth from the infected person to those close to them and then filtering through the community. It is one of the reasons I won't set foot in any NH room for the time being.

I should follow this advice ... I was going somewhere once, sometimes twice a week, then I got spooked and I have cut way back. I've only been in a NH room twice this month, thou I've been in the Boston Encore 3 times this week,
cause I'm a degen (sad).
