God bless old drunk people. They can turn a table full of nitty rocks into a fun table with lots of action. If you can put up with them never knowing what that action is to them, how much the blinds are, and them sucking out on you with 95 off every once in a while, it can be +EV. Turned two buy-ins down into one buy-in up within a half-hour.

Gave my friend 3.5-1 on eating a full plate of Margaritaville chicken nachos.

Good bet?

He eats alot but hes not a pro eater or anything crazy, usually can throw back like 40ish wings at hooters.

I don't know. All the cheese on a plate of nachos can get pretty heavy on the stomach. I would have set a time-limit.

When can I get some free stuff from Mohegan? Been 21 for a month and have about 200$ in comp points... Understand I'm not a super whale but they pretty much havent given me anything.

Does it take a while after registering before they send you stuff?

Also like 95% of my play is in the poker room so maybe thats it?

Yeah but I figured the way they weigh the comp system is 200$ of rake in the poker room = 200$ of equity on the BJ table.

Am I wrong?

I have been playing there since they opened in 96. I've mostly played TGs and poker. Every now and again I throw a little in the slots. I've gotten exactly 4 things from them besides the points you earn playing. In 15 years I've received 2 free bet coupons, 10 % off a pair of sunglasses ( 100$ min ) and free tickets to their WNBA game ( Lol). If it's free stuff u are looking for Mohegan Sun is the last casino you want to play at!

very wrong, 200 in rake takes 1000 times longer then 200 on a BJ table. so when you sit there and drink their drinks for 100 hours before you have paid out 200 in rake, while the guy at the bj table dumps 200 in 2.3 mins and they will take care of him much better. i mean the waitress hasnt even made it to him yet.

Except that BJ has a 0.35% edge for the MS to the player who has "mastered" basic strategy. If such a player flat bets $25 per hand, switching tables on every reshuffle (to maximize his action), they still have to play many hours to reach an EV of -$200.

I'm going to Ultra 88 this Friday with some friends for this girl's birthday. I don't really plan on staying too too long (gotta play poker duh), but I was wondering how much $ I should expect to burn at this place. Is there a cover charge? How much are drinks?

Thanks.

True. Didn't think of it like that, was only thinking of the 200$ the house made.

Thanks.

i delt blackjack for 8 years noone plays basic strategy. there was one guy i delt to out of the 1000s over my time there, who played perfect.

but youre missing the point that the house can take a big cut from the BJ player for one. they can only take up to 4$ from the poker player. theres no other upside that 4$, max. BJ allows the player to bet anything, so .35% of $25 isnt much but when he ups a bet you have a different story. even at 9 cents per hand you need around 2k hands at a perfect strategy to lose 200$ in your flat betting perfect world it seems like a long time but in the real world where the house edge is much higher you obv will get there much faster id still say you would get there much faster at a BJ table playing perfect then at a poker table

not to mention that not every hand are you paying rake at the poker table. you arent rated by times you pay rake, you are rated per hour of play. so you would need to play at a 10 handed table for a rake of 2k$ to get your average share (or 9 handed at MS for 1.8k in rake). at 2 mins a hand, even if they had a $4 drop for every hand, it would take 1000 mins to reach that 2k. theres no way they would ever comp a poker player better that a BJ table. to argue anything otherwise is just silly.
