I played in the poker room first time in a while and had a meh experience. Was in 1/2 waiting for 2/5 and I sat with 300 in red chips (the maximum). Lost a decent sized hand early and down 150 chips, so I added a $100 bill to make my stack $250. It was clear as day next to my chips before the next hand was dealt. The next hand is dealt and guy goes all in for his full stack of $300 and I call him. I win the hand and the dealer sees my bill and says, 'oh I didn't notice that.'
The player i doubled through starts hooting and hollering that the $100 bill doesn't play. We call the floor over and they rule no bills play at 1/2. At 2/5 the $100 bill would play, but not in 1/2.
The shift comes over and to confirm the ruling and that I'm responsible for changing the bill into chips. If the dealer doesn't notice it before the hand begins then it doesn't play. So I won $100 less
I accept the ruling, but ask why it's different for 2/5nl and the bills can play there but not 1/2. He says take it up with the CT State gamimng commission. I mention $100s play in all games at foxwoods, which is also a CT casino.
While I'm talking to the shift off table, a different dealer makes a smartass comment 'they're changing the rule tonight heh heh.'
This place is a total clown show. Very tough to play here even though I like the facility better than Foxwoods. They have alot of dumb house rules unique to only them, and this particular one cost me money. Absolutely absurd that bills would play in one of their games but not another.
