It is insanely frustrating you guys want all the high stakes action but there is only 2 high stakes tables and we cant at least reserve a table for later in the night on weekends when there is always multiple games and long list. When the 10/25 list is 20 people long no VIP is EVER going to wait for a game and rarely will a reg who started the game ever get up because they wont get back in until the next day.
Adding the VIP chair caters to your VIPs and and also rewards your regulars who constantly start games and battle it out to keep the games going (pretty sure this was mentioned in hype thread but never really addressed). It seems like we have seen enough weeks of action now to know this is a fantastic idea and I don't think anyone who plays these games would say otherwise.
If I you disagree can i get a petition and have it signed by 30 people to convince you otherwise and have this implemented?

Thank you very much
What are you suggesting would qualify someone for VIP status? This sounds like it could be a gaming commission problem. I feel like a state regulated public card room needs to provide all members of the public with equal opportunity to play in their games.

its simply someone who is a big player in the pit, and no they dont. People with certain status get to do this many places, even other mgm properties. Noir already gets to go to top of list but this isnt enough. Big players dont want to have a wait. Even if they are just the top of the list this could still take hours sometimes

The criteria would be decided but the idea needs to happen imo to make the games and environment better for everyone

Are these "many other places" in Maryland? I have no idea if there is a specific regulation on this, but casinos in Vegas get away with a lot of stuff that wouldn't be allowed in a more tightly regulated environment like Maryland.

So, the Monday tournament (2/20) is cancelled so you can cater to the cash players on a federal holiday. Great way to accommodate your tourney players! Are we to assume all future tournaments that fall on a federal holiday will be cancelled???

What's your source on Monday's tourney not running? I was at MGM NH yesterday, and specifically asked two floors whether Monday's tourney would run, given that it was a holiday. The first one kinda raised his eyebrows and said "I hadn't thought of that. That's a good question." His colleague immediately said that it would run.

Canceling the tournament is a reflection of demand. Every national holiday we have seen do far, we had 100 deep lists for 1/3 and 2/5 by noon. As much as I would like to spread a tournament, my best information tells me to cancel the tournament and spread the cash games.

Poor communication. My responsibility.

Until we have available table space, it's likely that we will either cancel tournaments on federal holidays or raise the buy ins to limit the field size.

On a positive note, I played a session this week and every dealer but one was a complete all-star: great attitudes, great mechanics, and great control of the table. We're really lucky to have this room so close to the city.
Look the casino is great, and i recognize i should probably be more clear about that so the people working hard to make it great know it.

On topic, I have seen 2 intentionally exposed hands thusfar in about 50 hours, and I was not involved in either hand, so yes it happens but no, not often.

Saw a guy today expose his hand while facing a bet and while I thought his talk was non-committal - mostly "I guess I gotta lay this down" stuff - the dealer scoped the cards and buried them in the muck without asking for clarification.

The player didn't object though so I guess he was intending to fold. (Terrible fold too)

I know MGM wants to help build a foundation to allow people to "work" their way up to bigger mix games.

Is there enough Intrest into getting a group to play let's say 6/12 mix. Games if Holdem, O8, Razz, Stud8 and 2-7 TD? Perhaps Johnny can authorized a 4 dollar time charge similar to what some other areas do?

I know that's a game I can look to play and start short handed any weekend and most weekdays when I'm not TDY.
I live in southern NJ and would come down every once in a while for a mix like this, or bigger. You said the 20/40 mix regularly runs? I didn't know that. What games? Do big bet games every get introduced into the mix? I really wanna play some NL27SD

Usually the 20/40 mix goes on Wednesdays. There is a 10-25 Big Bet mix game that goes on weekends I think. I'm not in that game but I've heard of PLS8 being a part of that mix, so I imagine they would play 2-7SD.

they play 100-200 triple draw....single draw isnt allowed to be spread afaik..

mix is usually some mix of PLO / BigO / PL Stud8 / 2-7 Triple / sometimes Badugi (pot limit games are 10/25, fixed limit is usually spread as 100-200)

occasionally the mix is 3 round PLO 1 round BigO so would def call and check before coming in.

Had looked forward to visiting MGM NH and did so for the first time this week. I wasn't disappointed - an excellent room, good mix of games, lots of variety running. Overall an excellent experience and would highly recommend to others looking to try it out.

Thanks for clearing it up for those interested! Like I said I wasn't sure about the games only knew of one of them.

Actually surprised they don't have 2-7SD but they do TD. I'm guessing some type of state thing but eh whatever. I had been asking another MD casino if they would get TD for years and they always said it's not allowed in this state so we won't even try.

Yet another reason MGM is my favorite in the area.

I just wish you could get Tier Credits on Poker.

recommend looking across the bridge in Alexandria for airbnbs, Old Town is nice if you want to be close to non-casino stuff like restaurants/history, or the other part of Alexandria/Franconia is just residential/strip mall type stuff and usually cheaper.

Almost sure it is 7' of clearance. If you look at google maps and street view the entrance sign says 7' as well, not so sure about the inches but believe that sign shows 0".

As for surface parking not sure what you can do, maybe the outlet mall and walk over but I have no idea how/if they are towing for outside parking.

They have a surface lot you can park in there and walk into the hotel area I think then down. The parking garage is 7' but if you have a bigger vehicle it's a tight garage also. I park in it but am not a fan of it at all

We took the advice of our 2+2 consultants and were ready for full spread by 12-1 pm. Worked like a charm.
