This must have been what they were setting up last Saturday when I was there - although the old system was still up as well.

I'll put it this way, if there is any sort of self serve coffee available and it means I dont have to wait over an hour to get one from a cocktail server that may or may not show up again - that is still A+ in my book.

I have a question about the poker room comps. Are they interchangable at other MGM properties? ie. Can I use the comps I have accumulated at MGMNH poker room for food at Bellagio, Aria, Mirage when I am in LV later this month by requesting a voucher from the poker room floor people there? Similarly, If I earn comps at those poker rooms, will I be able to use them when I am back at MGMNH?

No the poker room comps are not interchangeable. You will not see your MGMNH poker room cops at Aria or Bellagio; nor will you see those respective comps back here in Maryland. This is consistent with all MGM properties from my experience.

Your Mlife Express Comps are universal however.

If you earn poker comps at Aria you can't even use them at Bellagio. Johnny has talked about a potential improvement for this coming in the future but it's MGM wide not specific to NH.

This is temporary. Should have been addressed immediately.

hey johnny i hate to always be asking the same things but there is still no bell in the box room and the door still cant be locked....this is pretty upsetting seeing as how it was supposed to be done in the first week. Makes it seem like you guys dont value the privacy of your higher limit players at all

as a positive though the seating situation seems to be going much better, thanks!

Starting monday 2/13, dealers cannot accept anything less than $100 bills to sell from their well. Just a heads up...

Yesterday, the dealer told several new players that the first buy-in had to be made at the cage. I always do this anyway, so no issue for me. I actually like this better. Just curious if this is the new rule moving forward, or was the dealer doing this on his own.

Well let's hope they can get a reliable chip running system. MDL does it with minimal issues, and MGM has at least one cart available, but they need a dedicated person doing nothing but chip running with it.

And with the mic system down, should be an interesting night getting tables filled and names ran through.

I retract this statement. New setup is great. The addition of refrigerated bottled water is awesome. MGM is the best. Johnny Grooms is the best. Sorry I ever doubted you.

Also kudos to the floor and front desk working extra hard today without a microphone.

I hope both of these are true; it would help keep up the hands per hour ratio. It gets very tedious when the dealer is counting out the cash and there are hundreds of dollars in fives, tens and twenties.

It's recommended for the first buy in at the cage. Not an official rule though.

I asked this before, but didnt see an answer, so if someone answered already, i apologize.

what is the punishment if someone shows a card before showdown? Is the hand dead?

I love the room and there is good action, one gripe is the amount of time it takes to fill the seats. Every time a seat opened up it took between 15-20 minutes to fill even though there were 75 people on the 1/3 list.

Last night I couldn't color up at that window. I was told it was because they don't have a cashiers drawer and they aren't allowed to share with the others. I went around to the front, waited in line to colorup, then came back to get into my box.

I've also had trouble coloring up at the box window. I don't care so much about a lock, but a bell would be nice.

Does the 60 LHE game use $20 chips? Coming down next week to check the game out. Guessing the 75 game moved from MDL to MGM.

And correct, 75 @ live moved to 60 @ MGM. Goes reliably sun/tue/Friday. Has been going more often lately. There's also 20 th night @ live, and 20 Saturdays @ MGM.

Johnny hypothetical for you based on some conversation that came up in another thread.

I know that the official position is that dealers aren't supposed to announce bet sizes when chips are just placed in the betting area unless the opponent asks. (I don't love that rule and see erratic following that rule but that's besides the point)

Let say it's a 1/3 game and a player goes to bet and picks up 15 chip - 13 red and 2 black - and stacks them such that there's 2 stacks of 5 red, followed by a stack of 5 with 2 blacks in the middle ie red on top. This can be done intentionally to try to deceive the opponent as to the size of the bet or perhaps just an innocent dirty stack.

In this case should the dealer announce the size of the bet or re-arrange the chips to make it clear that it contains 2 blacks? If the dealer does none of this should a player not in the hand speak up to indicate that there's a perhaps misleading bet size out there? In a 1/3 there's a pretty significant size difference between a $75 bet and a $265 bet.
