Adam, any thoughts on this?:

The ideal would be that we have the total amount available at any time without going to the poker room to request it. Is that really not fixable?

I have plenty of thoughts on this. Getting the comps auto-loaded to your MGM Rewards cards is ideal for everybody, at all properties from NH to Vegas.

OK... that sounds good, like everyone's on the same page. Is it a priority at all? Something we might see this year? Or do you not know/can't answer?

The THORSE game you are referring to was 8/16 I tried to make it 10/20 but I couldn’t get enough people willing to commit to playing a smaller game and had issues with the floor being willing to give us a dealer at 2pm on Tuesdays consistently, even though it made them the same as the 20/40 game. So, the smaller mix game died.

If you aren’t interested though I’m playing shoot me a PM.
What are the blinds and cap in the big bet games?

Blinds are the same (10/20) but we strip them by half into the middle and they don’t count towards the pot pre flop for the flop games.

Cap is 10BB so 400.

Really enjoying the variety of games spread here lately, makes for a more interesting experience.

I was wondering, however, why MGM does not have a strict forward motion rule? On multiple occasions I have seen an in position player "call" out of turn when the out of position player grabs a stack of chips and motions them quickly forward and lowers them past the betting line (but not quite touching the felt), who then "stops short" as soon as he sees the out of turn call (which was obviously induced by what looked like a bet). This is clearly an angle that could be avoided if MGM had a forward motion rule and not a chip-release rule.

This situation often arises on the river when the in position player would be all in and the out of position player is most incentivized to get as much information as possible after multiple betting rounds already have occurred.

Thanks!

Is it that hard to simply wait until your opponent completes their action before doing something? Seems like a pretty simple solution.

You obviously did not even bother reading the entire post because it was clear that the motion looked like a bet to the in position player. It is not a matter of waiting, it's a matter of being deceived.

Minor complaint here but could the brushes + floors be told to back off the microphones a bit? I'd say about half of them make physical contact with the mic with their mouth and it is ear-piercingly loud when they talk as a result. It kills conversations and even slows down the game when dealers can't communicate.

How would anyone know how much I’m going to bet before I’m finished cutting out chips? Ethically i try to make my actions as clear as possible, but if you one Chip call my bluff before ive even placed my bet then you’re getting the absolute minimum. There is no confusion if everyone just waits until their opponents complete their action.

I noticed some tables today have different betting lines further away from the players. Does this change foretell a rule change?

PS: the floor does not enforce the minimum bet rule when this situation occurs either. They just let the out of position player check. Most casinos have a forward motion rule anyway. I understand why we don’t, especially if the goal is to protect the recreational player.

Don’t understand why we don’t.*

Saw a 1/3 NL/PLO on the interest list yesterday afternoon - did it ever go off? Thought about driving over but then remembered it was a holiday weekend and figured it would be packed.

It went off. I didn't pay attention what time it started. When I started playing around 1am there were a couple of empty seats. No wait.

Corp MGM has been working on this for a few years now. Absolutely nothing I can do to fix it unfortunately

Can we allow eating of at least snacks in the room? I'm fine if full meal service never comes back, but being scolded by a dealer for taking a bite of a granola bar seems over the top.

Why is the well only $2500 deep for timed rake games? $5000+ would keep games flowing uninterrupted (especially since we can’t swap cash for chips anymore).

Are three blind games approved?
E.g. 5/10/25 NLHE. Most of the player pool likes to play with a $25 UTG straddle but sometimes someone declines, ruining the game.

Could the minimum buy-in for 5/10 NLHE and 5/5 5-card Omaha be raised to $1000+?
Short stacks limit the playability of a straddle game.

Are double board games approved?
E.g. double board NLHE and double board PLO

+1 for having 3 blind games…5-10-25 is the norm and a straddle in 5-5 5 card is also the norm.
Maybe like Vegas where one player can’t ruin the game when the other 7 player want to straddle. I’ve seen players come in expecting a straddle, I’ve seen player get stuck in a straddle game and when someone kills the straddle it usually makes players go home.

However, I think buyins should be the same so transition from 5-10 to 3 blind game will be done with ease.
I disagree with playability…short stacks usually either lose or double pretty quickly. And too many players Min buy in 5-5-5 don’t want to mess with the already fragile player pool.

Also having a 3 blind game will allow people to easily buy the button with a straddle which would be nice. It would also open the door for people to double straddle in after the missed the blinds so they can get back in action. It is a time game after all.

Is there any way to get an official 3 blind game Adam?

Selfishly I would only want three blind games if you take those tables away from those you have at that limit already.

IE - if you have 3 5/T tables and want one to be a 3 blind game - fine. But GD it takes long enough these days to get a 2/5 seat if there's any sort of a waitlist, the last thing I'd want to see is two or three *more* tables taken out of the rotation and made into three blind games.

Just my two cents.

I get that people advocating for three blinds or increasing the cap want to win more money faster. But what about doing what’s best for the recreational player instead of doing what’s best for all the money-grubbing pros?

There are probably a lot of said recreational players who might take a shot or play a 5/T who would never consider sitting in a 5/T/25, especially in a three-blind game where the straddle will be $50.

Your greed will actually hurt you more in the long run. You may win more from the few saps who agree to your scheme at first but you will alienate many more and the player pool will shrink drastically, especially after the suckers lose too much money at such a rapid rate.

Forcing the straddle at 5/5 plo is probably a good example. That player pool dried up pretty fast.

How easy is it to nut peddle in a two-blind NLHE game vs recs? Nobody wants to play in these sorta games with these sorta players who can only mimic some basic strategy.

Peddlers must be punished. What’s one easy way? 3+ blinds.

Force more money into the pot. Force ranges to widen. Force more action.

Imagine all of the fun multi-way pots in a 3-blind + straddle game.

Sounds like a good idea for your next private game.
