600 cents time charge
11-05-2016 , 05:33 PM
The casino will open on December 8th at 8PM Eastern time.

But what I really want to know is when the poker room will be open to the general public.

Mine were mostly jokes, yeah.

Someone guessed the bolded, then Johnny said all prior guesses were incorrect...

Johnny is there any word or educated assumption on the buyin structure of 2-5 (capped at 500, 1000, or 100% of big stack) and possibly a rock? Also there was probably discussion already but what about the straddle?

All have been decided. Straddles will be allowed in time rake games in NL and in all PLO.

Awesome, thank you.

And the buyin structure? Or can you not say yet?

Exactly the answer I was looking for. Thank you Johnny!

In all seriousness, I'm looking for hotels there. Am I asking for trouble with traffic on the bridge if I stay on the VA side?

Not if you can avoid rush hour. Arlington and Alexandria are within minutes. I recently moved to Arlington and I'm less than 10 minutes away with normal traffic.

Depends on time of day... crossing from VA to MD in the morning is a breeze, between 4-6pm is problematic. The opposite is true coming from MD into VA.

@johnny how many tables will be in the room? how many will be reserved for high stakes games?

what will the time drop be for 10-25+?

some people are hoping to move there or rent places for awhile and this info would be helpful , thanks

Where in Arlington are you living that it takes you less than ten minutes? My wife and I were in Old Town this weekend and it took us @ 10 minutes to drive over there with no traffic at all.

You could stay in old town Alexandria and take the ferry to completely avoid traffic/driving.

I will odd the money that traffic will be crazy it's bad now and the casino is not even open. It's gonna take you an hour to just get into the place.

Are you talking about rush hour?

How about if you want to go at 8 or 9 pm?

a major, major traffic concern that hasn't been acknowledged is this:

495 is 4 lanes, but only 2 of those lanes will allow you to actually exit for MGM whether you're coming from the north or south. I'm sure i'm not the only one who's been driving 60mph in the express lanes coming south over the Wilson and seeing dead stopped traffic in the "local" lanes, sadly those local lanes are where you need to be to exit for MGM.

Again, depends on time of day.

Not to understate what will undoubtedly be an issue, but I would just add a little caveat to this. If you're coming from Alexandria and are in the express lanes, you can still get to MGM if you take the exit for MD 210. (I think the same would be true coming from points north on the inner loop in Maryland, but I don't know for sure.) You'll have a turn or two to make on the back roads -- and may be stuck in traffic there as well -- but it's not that painful outside of rush hour time. Of course, rush hour time is going to be quite long once MGM opens.
