Well my first experience at the Meadows poker room was not bad. Although I finished 5 places out of the money in the tourney, I will definantly be back for more. Great poker room. 10 times better than Wheeling. Well worth the extra 35 minutes drive.

come'on Gary, poker is a game of skill, so there are no bad beats...let alone allege that I got lucky

certainly miss the games with you, big john, denny, bobby, nunzio, etc. good times at the table w/lots of yuks & some pretty good poker. hard to find a game with more than 4 tables anymore

Is there any way to see some of the payouts and buy ins for some the recent tourneys? (also the number of entrants?) I am trying to plan another trip with a few of my buddies, but I am interested in seeing which tourney to try to plan for. I played in the $65 bounty the other night and was pleased, but being 2 and a half hours away, I would like to gather as much info as I can before making another trip.

Thanks for any info anyone can give me.

Thursday I found out when I came in friday. Things are changing we will all find out together, The poker room staff is still here for your needs I will try to answer all questions some I wont be able to answer as I am still a employee of the Meadows. The bottom line is the room needs to grow and add revenue so for all of those who read this post who have been customers thank-you, Bring a friend next time tell podium Gary ask me on 2 plus 2 to bring a new customer if you do we have hoodiees and hats coming I will try to get you something for helping the room.

Gary,

1. Get masseuses in the room.
2. Get good food that is served at the tables. I know when I lived in L.A. the food is even free to the higher limit players.
3. I really like the $150 Bounty tournament structure and maybe if had that more often or even maybe $100 bounty on Saturday's at noon. I do know some casual tournament players don't like to put up more than $100 for one tournament.
4. The Meadows attracts a lot of older people betting on the horses and you should do weekly Stud tournament. My dad and I played them back when you first opened but then they scheduled them on Sunday's when the Steelers were playing so no one came to them.

I'll be out Friday to play the Bounty and I'll try to bring a few friends.

This room cannot compete with the Rivers, so they have to do all the basic things better-------customer service, comps, food, good dealers, rulings, better tournaments, etc.

I for one would enjoy a bounty tournament on saturday since I cannot make it on Fridays.

Who is the new Poker Room Manager?

One of the edges the Meadows does have on the Rivers is tournies. However, I feel a poor job is done with regards to marketing these tournies. The one exception was the Moneymaker series, you guys did a great job in marketing that event and look how it turned out. The room was packed. If you could slap some guarantees on your monthly DOP series I would be willing to bet your #'s would double.

Hey Gary,

It was nice finally meeting you Saturday night -- my buddy came in 9th in Midnight Madness. Any idea how the wedding singer kid finished? We were definitely rooting for him.

Anyway, I would like to see a couple more point series throughout the year like you did with the Triple Crown. Maybe make it where the top 10 finishers compete for a WSOP Main Event/WPT seat or something. I think that would prevent a big dropoff in turnout like the third leg of the Triple Crown had.

Looking forward to coming back down next weekend for the BPW.

Dannysek, the problem is tour. make the casino far less than cash games, the room needs tour. that drive cash games in other words play cash also after busting out this brings in cash game players because there is lots of action, The Big Poker weekends are great and there is one this weekend so by all means please come, but the bulk of the smaller tour. did not put people in the cash games it either brought in tour only players or people with 50 bucks in their wallet which dont make casinos money. Square footage is at a premium in a casino Poker rooms must meet revenue projections or else, its a hard world. However changes are coming so stay tuned and I will try to keep everyone informed . Hire props. Even in the form of payment in comps. Need to be able to spread all the games all the time if request. If you run a stud or omaha game even short-handed with mostly props the games will find an audience. If propping does happen, I'd be interested in participating.

one thing I would love to see is a poker league. You can have it last maybe 12 weeks. Use the nightly tourney on Monday and Friday. You get points based on your finish and most points at the end of the 12 weeks (24 tourneys) gets a prize and bragging rights. I would be in for sure.

Love this idea; it expands on what I was suggesting earlier. I, too, would be in this for sure.

Ok guys, thanks for the responses , first I dont think Pa allows props, nor do I think the Meadows would do this but I will check. I will suggest the league idea but what we need are people playing cash games also. And YES Kitchen is still here alive and well and is the main person who keeps me from lossing my mind, most days, It was nice of you to ask. Gary
