This brings up a good point that I was curious about. Would the victim need to press charges for theft? Theft is not a felony in MD until $1,000 (higher than average).

Maybe this is a situation where one player took/gave another player chips knowingly, and someone alerted the floor? ("I never gave him chips, they were stolen from me" cover story). I can see a lot of scenarios where this may not be clear-cut theft as we know it between strangers.

While chips on the table are assumed safe, one can never be too cautious, a simple count down before going on break and small things like capping big chips with a dollar or putting them in a smaller stack (just remember to take them out) go a long way to theft prevention.

Just remember the casino is primarily concerned with the money going down the rake slot and not your chips, as long as it's not a felony and they can recover your money (prob even if they can't if it's 100 bucks), one would be foolish to expect MDL to make themselves look bad by self-reporting petty theft to the authorities.

If the alleged thief were arrested, the records would be public and I wouldn't have a problem with someone posting identifying information about the person based on the public information. If anyone has the alleged thief's name, check to see if he/she has a record for the incident: http://casesearch.courts.state.md.us...Disclaimer.jis.

I would hope platinums also get free room offers. Some times you just want to degen for a weekend without having to drive home for the weekend.

I asked up-thread about transportation options from DC. In case anyone has similar questions, I was staying in DC (around the Jefferson Memorial) and took an Uber up and back. Left for MD Live around 7 and came back 1 AM and it was about 40 minutes each way, and $40 each way.

I played 2/5 and really enjoyed the room (though probably influenced by the fact that I won $2,000). Dealer were strong, lots of tables, most of the players were chatty and there was plenty of action at the tables. My only complaints are lack of free booze, the food was meh, and I prefer a $1k cap on 2/5.

Hey Mike, how many levels will be played on Day 1 of Event 3 of the WPT series? I keep looking on the website and I can't find that info. Thanks!

Was there a way to pre-register for the WPT events? Or do you have to show up an hour before to register? Arrived during level 2 for event #1 and there is 140+ on the waiting list and the last person called was #10. Yikes!

Cash game waiting list are 50+ for 2/5 and 90+ for 1/2.

None of that's been determined yet. At least not with the poker team

The WPT didn't give us a set number, so we plan to play until the bubble breaks. But that could be adjusted either way

Thanks, Mike. Do you guys have a hard stop, like you won't make us play past 4 or 5 am or something like that?

Can anyone provide an average run time for the WPT main event SATELLITE tournaments?

For example, there's a 4 p.m. today (Monday 9/26) -- how long will that run until they award the seats (until 8 p.m., midnight, 4 a.m.) roughly -- just an estimate would be great.

We do not. probably play it by ear. Day 2 doesn't start until 7 pm, so I would think 5-6am would be worst case scenario if it's a huge field.

Thanks

Mike

also interesting is that md live now gives discounts to Royal Caribbean cruises.
(In addition to or instead of NCL???)

when you get an offer for a free cruise, please post it.

last time (may 2016), I didn't get any notification (snail mail or email).
I just happened to be at md live that day and saw people with ncl brochures.

for the heck of it, i stood in line to find out if i was eligible.
the answer was yes. got a 7day free cruise.

Nearest Royal Caribbean port is Baltimore.
nearest ncl port is nyc.

How much out of pocket was the free cruise? Sounds like a good deal.

BBJ fell down to $176k today. I think it was around $240k over the weekend. A bunch of mini bbj? It wouldn't start that high with a seed after a mega, would it?

Took the NCL free trip last Oct. Counting tips (mandatory), taxes, port fees, airfare, ground transportation, excursions, trip insurance, soda drink package, room upgrade, etc., the 'free' trip only cost us about $3k!

With casino cruises the base rate of the cabin is free, that's about it. So it's rarely something to go out of your way for, but if you were thinking of going on one anyway it saves you a few hundred.
