Crazy, get 3, discard 1 on the flop (but after betting).
Thats the way we play it in our home game. Never played it in a casino. That would be to crazy.

I think if there's OE it should be 10-20 or at least 8-16 to differentiate it from what's already offered. Or heck just do a straight 4-8 sstud8 (or 6-12 for a better ante structure). 10-20 though u differentiate it at it has a better (but still slim) chance of a) running and b) having mdl be open to spreading it. IMO.
+1million. Excellent post

I think it's July 28th. I wonder if he's planning on playing the main event before the cash game , anyone know?

How many people has the 6/12 HORSE game been getting?

I *think* that the mall has bike racks, and the Casino is just outside the food court entrance, so... probably right there.

We used to play 8/16 quite frequently. Both omaha 8 and OE. I forget the reason (it's in this thread somewhere) but the game slowly died. Maybe it was interest or they wanted to run 15/30 I think it was one of those but I really don't remember. I think I remember playing 15/30 O8 and OE a couple times tho.

I've played the 6/12 horse a fair amount and I never really noticed people being away from the table a lot, except a few times where it was pretty obv they didn't want to play the stud games and left after a couple rounds.

I'd much rather play 8-16 OE than horse and would also play short. But can generally only play weekends.

I've been wanting to learn all of the HORSE games, being a NLHE player. Given that I can't really do it online now a days, I'd be interested in occasionally playing some 6/12 HORSE if it went, but I wouldn't play it any higher and would actually prefer 3/6 or 4/8. I think if a very small HORSE game went once a week or once a month even, it would be a good feeder to the bigger games.

I'm going to play tonight probably 6 12 Horse if it gets running or the trusty rusty Friday night o8 with holdem players waiting for 1 2 and generally not a clue what they're doing

Also they are preparing for the new room to be open and would increase their promotion's frequency.

Thanks jonny. Were you there in the last week? Feel like I've been choosing the wrong times to go. This year I saw the light

Re: limit game buyins

Good rule of thumb for limit games:

2 chip/4 chip structure: 1 rack for fullish game

3 chip/6 chip or 4 chip/8 chip: 2 racks for fullish game

Add an extra rack or two if the game is super short.

So what would be a non-noob buyin for the 6/12 HORSE?

Ummm..there is water readily available for free in the casino and for every proper person like you trying to get H20, there are 5 people in the parking garage trying to fill up with vodka...

They are not really trying to deny you water sir....

Dunno know about non-noob, but I'd buy in for 2 racks of $2 chips - $400, 33 bets. That's a but much, but it makes things easy at the cage. In general, I think you want to be starting with between 20 and 30 bets if you're going to put in a real limit session.

* - and don't be surprised if you run through those either...especially if you're playing short handed.
