I want to post in here about must moves and playing your button. The PLO game gets a must move once in a while and when players have paid their blinds and wanted to play their button there was always a question. 90% of the floor allowed them to play the button (Jeremy included) but there was always 1 or 2 that did not.

I was at the must move and just paid my blinds and was told to move on my button. I replied with, thats wrong. Then the rule book came out and stated that the player must move and is not allowed to be dealt in the next hand. I find this odd because Jeremy and most others allowed you to play the button.

I dont care what the rule is. I just wish they had the same rule, everyday. It seems like there are small rulings that come up and it depends on who you ask. I would think it would be figured out by now.

I asked a couple dealers. Word is "he's away for a few days". Seems odd to me the same line by 2 different dealers.

If you look around you'll notice that there are a few people missing. Dealers and floor people.

I'm not saying it's right that your ipad was stolen, but if you leave something valuable lying around a casino while you go to dinner, then you should be surprised if it ISN'T stolen when you return.

Takes balls to steal at a casino. What is security saying?

Just saw on bravo that a 5/10 HORSE game is running tonight. Anybody play in it? Thoughts? Unfortunately I'm in Tuscarawas County for the evening. Otherwise I'd be playing.

Me too, would've loved to play in it but had plans tonight... heard from friends though that it was a good game, decently stacked, and at least 7 handed most of the night.

Hopefully it can run again Friday or Saturday, maybe?

There's a posting on the bravo app looking for interest in a 50-100NL game on Dec 1st at 2pm. It says to Email Jeremy to reserve a seat.

Cleveland casino is no longer listed on the WSOP page as a tourney spot. Did it lose the privilege?

Nah...Horseshoe was scheduled 14th - 25th. Now there's just a gapping hole on the schedule. Take it for what its worth, but a dealer told me that a ruling came down regarding holding the event off site and the answer was no. Can't see how it would work in the casino alone, so maybe they pulled the plug. Hope not.

And now the gaming commission has apparently decided they cannot hold the circuit event at an outside hotel. I guess somewhat understandable because its not in the building licensed to be a casino. However, if anyone with common sense or poker experience were on the commission it would just be common sense that the casino needs a ballroom for these tournaments. Honestly the commission seems like a big waste of tax dollars. Just have them verify the games are fair and that should be enough. Having a commission that decides what color chips are allowed on a table is just crazy. Having been other places I know some states have stupid rules but ohio seems to be the worst.

Seems to me that if the casino company had enough respect for their poker-playing constituency, they would have built a casino that could accomodate large tournaments. Dumbasses (the casino).

Gaming commission didn't decide that ... the voters did. The constitutional amendment allowed for 4 casinos in Ohio, and it was VERY specific as to where they were to be built. It even took a separate vote to move the location of the Columbus casino.

When I heard the rumors that the larger poker tournaments would be played at some other venue I said there was no way that could happen -- it has to be played in the licensed casino building/structure. Blame Gilbert/casino for not building a large enough venue, or for buildiing a "temporary" structure until their "permanent" building is built. Still don't believe that they are going to build another structure.

Gaming commissions in every state nit pick over every detail of the games. That's what they do. I don't think Ohio is any worse than the other midwest casinos.

The state issue that was passed actually listed ten different possible locations for the Cleveland casino and allowed for them to use one or more of them. The general understanding was that they would open a location at the old Higbee building first then build a second location somewhere else. By using an existing building Cleveland was able to open sooner than Columbus and Cincinnati which chose to build new buildings from the ground up.

However, they (casino group) didn't elect to choose one of those other sites to get licensed (in addition to the former Higbee building) correct? And if you don't get one of the other facilities licensed, you can't hold a poker/gambling event there.

Right. So far their plan has been:

Phase 1 - Get Higbee building open ASAP - done
Phase 2 - ???

A while back some posted an article where Rock Gaming reiterated their commitment to make phase 2 happen yet they failed to provide any concrete details on what or where phase 2 would entail.

Wife got a comped room at the Renaissance. Will our parking be comped at the Renaissance or will I have to drop her off to check in and then go and park at casino parking near Twisted Kilt?

comped at the ren lot... but there is a horseshoe parking lot across the street anyways.

Let me state that it might be player specific for parking comp. Mine always is at least.

Nautica is opening back up in January. They have a couple more meetings to finish the details. So far what I know is that there will be $3-4 rake and freerolls. Also they are trying to get machines in there if the state allows it (not sure what they mean by machines).

Now before everyone says that place sucks and it cant compete, think about it as competition for poker business. Thats a GREAT thing for us players. If Nautica can open and attract business that in return will lower the rake all around.

Lets see what happens. I will update with details if I ever hear them. I try to only state facts and there are obviously lots of roumers that go around. This was straight from the room manager (or soon to be room manager). So I have to take his word for it.

The best thing about it was that players came there and lost their money to other players. Most of the terrible players from Nautica don't make it to the third floor at the Horseshoe with any money left.
