I can dissect this in many ways, but let's take this one at a time.
"until upper-tier players pay more rake they don't deserve..."
I'll submit that upper-tier players do pay more rake. A full NL game takes $144/hr in rake guaranteed, $160 if there's a 7 stars taking up space. The lower tier takes what? 10%, up to a $5 max? to equal this, a lower tier game would have to deal ~30+ hands/hr that break the $50 pot mark. So, that's 1 hand/2 min, with a guaranteed $50 in the pot every time. at a 3-6 game? Even at a 10-20 game, it's still hard enough to deal that many hands/hour.... Umm....doubtful.
So by your reasoning, upper-tier players pay more rake, therefore deserve more perks. I'm sure that you'll whine your way out of that one.
"7 stars players can't get in my game..."
Sure they can. 7 stars players donk more into the casino in 1 HSBJ/BAc session, than a whole table of lower-tier players do in a whole day of max rake. If I were the casino, I'd make sure that they're pretty happy, and if it includes temporarily inserting a chair into a 3-6 game, so be it.
"The promo/freeroll sucks...."
Yea, well, that's subjective, so whatever....All the stuff above, is objective.
What you all seem to forget is that venue that we are in. It's a casino. Loosely defined, it's an organization that thrives on engaging patrons in negative sum propositions. the larger your investment in a negative sum prop, the larger the casino's expected take.
Given such, it would only behoove the casino to ensure that those who do account for larger percentages of the profits be pampered and taken care of. This is not an issue of fairness, it is one of value, and if you can't comprehend the meaning of value, you probably shouldn't even play poker to begin with.
Note: The "douchin-esque" tone of my rebuttal may hurt your feelings, or make me seem insensitive, but it's the truth. Go ahead and keep on screaming injustice, as you would. In the meantime, I'm going to have some prime rib in the Diamond lounge. I can bring in a guest. Would you like to come? It's free....
Uh, thanks but no thanks. I've eaten in the Diamond lounge several times, with friends of mine who are suckers-enough to be members, and there's a reason it's free.
Other than that, the only thing I agree completely with you on, is that it does "behoove" the casino to kiss the asssses of Diamond and Seven-Star status. Why wouldn't they; they are the biggest suckers in the casino world, and I find it ironic that they seem to take some sort of pride in being so cherished, as if that's a good thing. If they knew how hard management was laughing on the inside, while patting them on the back on the outside, they might not be able to look at themselves in the mirror in the morning.
As far "riling us up" and "hurting our feelings," don't lose any sleep over it; you're not that good at either. Have a good one.
