Perfect timing! I get my second dose next week, and hopefully a week after I can play some poker again.

Not sure how many players they have on Saturday I guess a lot. It is about 45min-1hour ride from Des Plaines.

Another option is rcgpoker.com it is a charity they used to have decent games ,on Saturday they will be in Skokie that is about 20-30 minutes ride

Well, got my second shot today, so I feel pretty comfortable about playing live in two weeks. However, I've still not had my two questions answered: 1) Will there be call-in reservations and 2) How many players at each table. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Based on their Facebook video, looks like 10 tables, 9-handed and in The Venue. The lists are going to be ridiculous. If anyone goes tomorrow please post a review!

Planning to go in two weeks, but still no answer to my questions. How will signing up for a game work (phone in?) and how many players at a table. I would think someone must have an answer. Doesn't anyone from Horseshoe ever check this thread?

I can say as a former dealer at the shoe I was not welcomed back after being a day one dealer since 2008. I was told I was rehireable when I got the call in october when they let all of us go. So fast forward months later when I heard they plan on reopening the room but I would have to take a pay cut and deal table games on top of that I was told to reapply for table games. A couple days later I receive an email saying my application was basically rejected. I reached out to my former boss Mr. Soto and his boss Mitzie left both of them messages but received no phone call back. I firmly believe I wasnt welcomed back due to the fact of me going down to HR and talking to Dan Nita about how Mr. Soto ran the room I remained professional about it and let them know what really was going on in the room. So I'm sure it got back to Soto and he basically blackballed me from being rehired. I'm retrospective I'm glad in a way they didnt hire me back but was furious I didnt receive a call back from them while they tried to recall former dealers.

I’m guessing you’ll have answers tomorrow by people that check it out. Just check back.

That’s shitty. Sorry to hear. I’m not really up to speed on the Soto stuff. What was he doing?

What was he doing.... The guy was hardly ever in the room and when he was he would be either dealing because he didnt like to interact with the customers or he would come in the room for 5 mins then go hide downstairs in his office all day... 99 percent of you guys are nice and great people but the 1 percent need to get booted. Nobody that deals in the box wants be be m0therducked while they are dealing and keep in mind we have a zero tolerance policy with guests but when I asked to see the policy it doesnt exist and its upto management discretion so therefore no policy exists.... and when learning new carnival games in the horse game they handed out pieces of papers of how to deal the games. So I complained about that I'm a visual learner so if you want to make use learn new carnival games that no dealers want to learn but yet appease 9 players that the majority of them are good people but some of them arent nice people at least sit down and teach me what I'm doing.. Soto was never ever a customer favorite or an employee favorite by any means just for management he was a yes man..

Me personally if I was in upper management save yourself the 80k a year and cut ties. Every since he has run the room revenue has gone down. So what value does he really bring to the room???

I was hoping Soto had moved on to other pastures. Would love to see them rebuild the room and bring back a player's manager like Nick or Jeremy to run it professionally. Otherwise, I find it more enjoyable to drive farther to play in better-run rooms. Still conflicting reports on whether Hard Rock has a poker room planned.

I always liked Nick. Like me he's a history buff and a reader, so it was always nice to chat while I waited for a seat. I remember a rumor that he might be running the Hard Rock room, but that may just be wishful thinking since HR might not even have a poker room.

That's SOTO for sure, you KNOW HIM: The guy was hardly ever in the room and when he was he would be either dealing because he didnt like to interact with the customers or he would come in the room for 5 mins then go hide downstairs in his office all day.

This is imperfect, but it’s exciting to have any poker at all returning to the region. The ‘Shoe posted a bit of video of the opening on BookFace, but the comments are like 50% complaining about masks and not being able to eat or drink, because that’s just where we are as a country right now.

I’m vaccinated, so when this is open on the weekends I’ll drop by, assuming the wait times aren’t measured in hours. I was really getting good at dusting off thousands at PLO before the pandemic hit, and I can’t wait to get back into form.

He wasnt called the unicorn for nothing. Every once in a while he would appear through the cigarette smoke walking into the room only to quickly disappear....

Jason and Jeremy are both poker players themselves. You see them playing in other casinos. Hated to see Jason leave - he was the first manager when they opened. Then, things really went south when Jeremy left and Soto became manager.

None of us even when we were employed never understood how on earth he kept his job. Must be cooking the books with the customer service scores

I really thought there would be a lot more info about the reopening. How long are the lists? How were the games? Nothing. Even before Covid the numbers in the room were way down. Has that trend continued or is it simply too soon to tell?
