What a hilariously awful decision that would be. I'd gladly pay a fee to use the top-section cage like mentioned earlier. Would force myself to use valet as well.

The center cage had recomended to walk to the high limit area to limit exposure. I guess this will have to do

just to confirm, I heard this from 4 dealers the other night (one brought it up at the table and the convo carried over the next 3 dealers after him.) I'd say it is a foregone conclusion this is happening. I agree, roll into the high-limit area and pray they dont catch up and deny poker players access all of a sudden to that HL cage.

completely ridiculous tho, I get needing to be profitable but hell figure out another way to manage that convenience for players. I also dont understand how they are going to manage fill-ups for dealers as quickly, unless those are coming from the front desk as well.

Sounds like a lot more people will be skipping cashout and heading home with colored-up chips in pocket if they know they are returning the next day for another session etc.

Most action in the Midwest by far. They aren't hurting for money. It's just some kind of blind leading the blind act of blindness.

Absolutely bizarre. Inexcusable for a poker room this size. Especially since the casino itself brings in tons of action all around the board since its the nicest around. And yes, i only play at the shoe once or twice a month and i will still b coloring up(hopefully they keep purples in the rack) and bring my chips home. What a nightmare...

I would guess that it has less to do with Horseshoe Hammond itself and more to do with the significant financial issues of CET.

Well that sucks. I wonder how they are going to handle the buy-in when you first sit at the table.

At Ceasar's in vegas there is no cage. The floor walks with you to your seat then takes your cash and brings you chips back from the front desk.

True, but CP is a 16 table poker room that only ever nears capacity on the weekends. Right now at 7:00 PM there are 6 cash games running at CP and the largest game running is $2/$5 NLHE. Hammond has 15 games running and the largest game running is $50/$100 Mixed. The difference is even greater on the weekends or during a big series. Hammond gets huge numbers for tournaments while CP runs no tournament series at all and gets ~20 players in their daily. You can't really compare the two and infer that by extension if it works at CP it will work at HH.

As for the second quote, you cash out at the front desk as well.

Was mentioned multiple times when I first brought it up, just seems too widespread at this point to be a joke.

They pushed it back to middle of this week I think. Was open last night but I'd heard it was getting pushed back earlier in the week am almost positive it's a done deal.

All the dealers I talked to Thursday/Friday said it was supposed to be on Friday April 1, but they pushed it back to next Friday the 8th - but it is definitely a done deal.

Horseshoe Hammond does have a twitter that we can at least complain to.
@ChiHorseshoe

Probably won't do anything though if they're already planning on it.

They'll say f u and here comes the Joliet rake on top of it now go play the slots and sign up for our credit card if you want us to even pretend to start to care.

I've been pretty hard on the player's side for even the most minor issues in the past but this one I'm just kind of deciding to punt right away. It is what it is. Use some judgement regarding safety issues and the like but it's not like that was a non-issue before anyway. In the current environment I'm becoming pretty much resigned to getting worked up in deal breaker type spots only. This probably shouldn't be one.

Dealer shortage? I'm at the Horseshoe now. I tried to play 1/2. I was put on the list, but was told to just go home because they weren't sitting new players. 19 games going. 8 for 1/2. They said they had to send 9 dealers home. I got to admit I'm a bit in shock now. They said it's been like this for 3 weeks now and will be like this until new dealers are trained. Come before 11pm if you want to play is what I was told.

Majestic is like five minutes down the road if you're playing 1/2.

Mandate to not allow OT? Labor issues?

First closing the poker room cage and now this? What kind of idiots are managing this place?
