So I realize that technically it's a rule, but it's still a dick move to make the dealer show a losing hand that is trying to much at showdown right? Or were my live poker etiquette trainers misinformed?

From my experience since black Friday the average age at these games is about 25.

This accounts for the 22yr olds that clearly just left the internet and the ~30yr old live horseshoe crew.

Maybe I'm wrong but the games just seem to be running because the live regs think the internet regs are fish and the internet regs think the live regs are fish.

This is only from like 5 times going there since Black Friday but I'm done with the horseshoe I think. Thats not the kinda lineup I want for a full ring live 5-10 game.

The 2/5 mixed was 1/2 plo and 2/5 hold em with 500 max

This tilts me so hard. Its usually the nitty old regs that are terrible that want to see what you're getting it in with but dont wanna pay the money

Did not play in the that game but seems like a great idea and would not mind playing if it runs again.

It totally depends on the player. Any aggressive professional is going to show if I have anything to say. Anyone who raises my blind like clockwork...ur gonna show. Why? cause F*&^ you that's why. Go do something useful with yourself and if you get mad good. Why is it only technically a rule. It's a rule. It's part of the game. If you don't like it don't play or STFU. Or don't. I don't care.

Now making a rec player show is a different story. Making a rec show is a major sin. Whoever does that should be beaten in the parking lot.

But if you think you are going to bluff me left and right and not show you are wrong and if the dealer lets you muck he is getting trouble from me and not tipped for awhile.

Yeah I wasn't the one bluffing, nor does your reasoning make any sense, but you sure sound like a cool person.

One of my biggest pet peeves at the shoe is being forced to show when my opponent obviously know i was making a 4b bluff shove. I can point out a handful of older regs at the 2/5 level that do this countless times.

By the way did anyone make the final table on sunday's 200 trny?

The Shoe should adopt the policy taken in all of the major Vegas poker rooms. One can see a hand in this situation only if the dealer and the floor agree that there was potential collusion. The only reason for asking to see a hand is not combat collusion....not as a means to see what others are playing.

That being said, whenever someone does the I want to see that hand crap with me, I work hard for as long as it takes to F*** that player over in every way possible. It is all just a game and I am more than willing to play the game with them.

That's basically what I did. Dealer pulled them out.

last time someone did that to me, I just asked the dealer to flip his cards when he hero called me with 4th pair and wanted to muck.

I'm not super pissed about this, even though it kinda seems this way, wanted to make sure I had what was standard in my head as well.

It's a dumb rule too imo.

Huh. That's VERY interesting. While waiting for the O8 game at Harrah's Joliet last Friday, I saw an old guy take down a pot with kings full with his pocket kings, and his villain mucked. When he asked to see the hand, the dealer told him "no" because villain's cards were TOUCHING the mucked cards, never mind they were still clearly identifiable.

Regulars: On nights where there's a concert at the Venue, do you notice an uptick of traffic at the low-limit NL tables? For instance, in July there are back-to-back dates of decent acts (Joe Satriani, Melissa Etheridge, Patti LaBelle) and I want to know if there could be a few more fish than normal given those events.

venue shows definitely show an increase in the poker room, and it also depends on the type of show. i dont think satriani is going to do much for poker, but whenever a hispanic or asian act is in there is TONS of action.

also, when the chppendales came, the room was filled with sexy ladies. please come back to the venue chippendales.

How many runners have the past two Summer Poker Tournament Series events got in the last month at the Shoe? Thoughts on play/structure?
