What a fantastic rule. Imagine all the time saved when all that silly table talk / 20 questions BS is prohibited. There's a related thread from a couple years ago that I'll try to dig up when I'm in front of a computer for anyone who is interested.

I'm interested. Rules are rules and I respect that, but I think the ability to talk and/or reveal cards (when you're heads up) can only add to the game.

I love the new rule. I think the ability to talk and/or reveal cards (when you're heads up) usually just adds stupid banter and wasted time to the game.

I agree with this. Why shouldn't people be able to talk when they are heads up? To save a few minutes for the rest of the players at the game? I think it adds a layer of psychology to the game

I'm thinking of playing in Friday's 11 AM tournament. What kind of turnout are they getting for these?

I didn't get off work until 8 so I didn't arrive until 9 or get a seat until the second game started. I'm glad I was at second table because I heard the first table was playing 2 rounds O8 1 holdem. At the second table it was hoe 1 round each game. I'd rather not play if it is going to be just holdem and Omaha and especially not if there was an O8 preference. I put up with O 8 if I get to play Stud8 but if not I'd rather play straight holdem.

There needs to be at least one stud round preferably the 8 variety. I had fun. Will do again if stud 8 or even hi offered or if just holdem. Though I'd prefer Stud8.

Yeah I was there saturday and the dealer at the time said no turning cards up or showing cards even heads up. I was like you're the only place that doesn't allow this. The dealer said the rule is at all casinos. I said no way that's possible. He said maybe not all dealers enforce the rule. I said well you're the only dealer that's said something.

57. A participant is allowed to mention the strength or content of his/her hand if no other participant in
the hand will have a decision to make. In heads-up events or when down to the last two participants in a Tournament, participants may speak freely regarding the contents of their hands.
This is from the official poker rules handbooks for tournaments. Not sure why table talk heads up in cash would not be allowed given this rule (although it is different since it specifies last 2 players remaining in the tournament)

Sorry guys, I was unable to find the thread I was looking for, but I know it exists. Maybe we should start a new one in the main B&M Forum to get a wider range of views. The above two opinions sum it up nicely though: one group thinks that 20 questions and showing cards is part of the game; others think it's a waste of time.

Unless you have comments on the rule specifically with regard to Horseshoe, I ask that you take further discussion of the rule generally to the main B&M Forum either in a new thread or the low-content thread. Thanks!

Sure thing. I'd just like to hear from Anthony or someone why the Horseshoe FAQs allow this but the Horseshoe floor currently does not.

So, does the rake remain at $6?

We changed the rule for two reason.

1st just like Rapini said it speeds up the game and allows players to see more hands and eliminate unnecessary table talk, along with the floor being called for a ruling that could have been avoided

2nd it eliminates shot taking and collusion. We have to protect all players that come into the room from the novice to the most experienced player. We do not want players being mislead by actions of another player that can be interpreted as a call, fold, all-in that will cause them to reveal their hand prematurely.

I know that this may not be one of the most popular rules but we take the integrity of the game very seriously and want all players to feel like they are playing in a straight up game.

Thank You Everyone

Anthony

What's the best way to deal with parking on gamedays/tomorrow? I'm not attending the Ravens game, just want to come and play cards. Not interested in paying $50 parking to do so.

Is there an "after X time.." or a way to confirm you're not game parking to get a spot?

Thanks

If you play for X hours or so they comp your parking.

I think its 4 hours.

Got here about 0745 and not charging yet but signs are up saying $40. Supposedly 100 tier points earned is comped parking. Should be 2 hours of play.

Ah. How/where do you get the comp?
PokerRoom or PlayersClub? Cash back?

Thanks

This casino is really shooting themselves in the foot with this 60 dollar parking charge.

How so? It was mentioned that they'll validate it with just 100 tier points earned. They'd be foolish to offer free parking for the Ravens game attendees.

You can also get there early or ~130 for a one o'clock game and not pay...they pretty much took the most reasonable option considering the rewards loophole

Not trying to be an ass but if casino employees dont know when a slot machine will be working, why would people on a poker site?

define early.
also parking = free 30min after the game starts?

that isn't bad at all.

wished I knew that. I passed Horseshoe at 2pm and skipped it because of I thought I had to pay parking till the game is over (~4pm).
and there's no way I'm playing 4hrs at tables.

Can anyone tell me why the maximum withdrawal at the ATM is only $240, and the charge is $4.99.

I don't mind the fee so much as my bank reverses all ATM fees but having to stand there and do multiple transactions is not very convenient.
