Played for a couple of hours today. Finally found the room after 10 mins of walking through the loudest casino I have been in. Signed up and had to wait about 10 mins. Not to bad. Went to get chips and this took 15 mins. They we bringing in 8 trays of red and 10 whites. I was a little annoyed because this halted any new players sitting down and there were 5-6 behind me also waiting. When I FINALLY got my chips (with no rack?) I sat down and noticed that the 1/2 game had mix of new players on it. There were 4 short stack players (which I don't mind) and a few others with 300-500 and a couple about 150. What I was really suprised at was the amount of $25 chips on the table. There must have been 1K mixed around the table. I was looking around like this was a short stack 2/5 game. I guess either the players requested them to look cool or that was all they had at the time these players sat down. I couldn't figure it out for a 1/2 game.

When I finally got in on the action, I noticed that most players limped and almost everyone called. Even when someone raised 12-15 there were always 4-5 callers. I did reraise one hand preflop to 19 with QQ and got 3 callers. I was thinking wow. Hit the Q on the flop, c-bet and had 2 callers at 25. Turn was a rag, bet 50 and of course call. Another 3 on the river, bet 75 and called again with Q 10. I didnt mind that at all. I did notice that people would call light all the way and you coulnd't bluff them because they would call with bottom pair. I did manage a small win for 126 in only 2 hours. I sure wish I could have stayed longer but I still had a 2 hour drive ahead of me to get home after already driving 4 hours. I doubt I will be back due to my job moving me next month but there is plenty of money to be made there.

I would rate the room a 5/10 due to the loud slots chiming in my head and the $6 rake. Both dealers were competent but that is about all. I am sure they will get better as will the room. I did manage to get their chip to add to my collection and that was the main reason I wanted to play there once.

All packed and ready to go. I start next week, but don't know when I hit the floor. Feel free to stop by and say "hi". I have a shaved head and a beard, tall and thin, and my name is Brian. Look forward to meeting you guys soon!

I think the empty seat info from the Bravo pads is now finally getting electronically sent to the desk - at least that's what i was let to believe by a dealer yesterday.

They do seem to be getting quicker at filling the empty seats, so maybe it's true.

Hey, are there any daytime regs out there who would like to try to start a 5/10 Limit Omaha8 game in the mornings? They bring some new dealers in at 9 i think, so maybe if we can coordinate a day and time, we can get them to spread it.

I was told the dealers were only officially trained in 8 or better, so until further notice, no straight Omaha.

Anyone interested? PM me and/or post here and i will collect info.

Cheers.

I like the idea, but I can only do evenings (after 6:00 pm) or weekends.

If a bunch of 2+2-ers are going to get an Omaha-8 game going, maybe it's not a bad idea to make it 3/6 or 4/8. That way there's a better chance of casual players jumping in that don't really know how to play.

I just realized something -- until the room is moved/expanded, post-6:00 would never work, since the room at that time is filled anyway.

But maybe Sat/Sun in the morning or early-afternoon?

I can be in for O8 on most Fridays starting AM. 4/8 kill sounds good to me.

Played at Penn National 3 or 4 times (I travel weekly up 81 right past it & stop in sometimes); played 2/5 NL each time. One interesting thing about the room is that the house tends to keep the same dealer at the 2/5 table for an extended period of time, using other dealers only when the primary goes on break. Maybe they do it on other games too - i didn't ask or notice. I have never seen that in other casinos, I found I like the consistency & lack of disruption of changes - luckily haven't been stuck with a bad dealer. $6 pot rake stinks though. Softness commented on by other players wasn't overly obvious on the 2/5 most of the times I played- not all-stars, but not a flock of total donks; tight passive for the most part with 1 or 2 total wild card/newbies.

I think they typically try to keep one of their better dealers at the higher limit games, given that 2/5 is normally the highest regular game, you're sure to get one of the good ones.

I may be there soon after that Ganaram. I will still sit in a 1/2 that opens at 10am, and try to keep an eye out for the O8 list. I'm a big guy, likely wearing a beeriodic table shirt and a hat. No hoodie, no sunglasses.

That was my thinking. Hoping to drag some players looking to play with limited omaha experience. Any chance of setting one up for this Sunday?

Saw a lot of talk about getting an O8 game going.

Just be warned the only Omaha they spread is Limit 4/8 Omaha High/Low.

I've heard they will be doing PLO and all other Omaha variations when they (hypothetically) move the room upstairs.

I'm no good for this sunday as i am away all weekend - but it actually may be easier to get going on the weekend due to the bigger crowds.

So for all interested, we have an attempt friday morning and possibly on sunday - what time were you thinking sunday?

Speaking of fri, i did speak to at least one guy today who said he would be on the LOI in the morning for 4/8 - O8. His boardname is Tarzan. I will be up as Gan.

I might point out that to get this going - IF we get enough, IF we get a dealer, etc. - you will have to be prepared to bounce from you hold'em game if you are seated when we call it.........

I noticed todaythat altho I signed up for both nl and an omaha list that tarzan had started, when they called my NL seat, they took me off both boards - so it might be worthwhile checking to see that your name remains on the Om LOI.

cheers

Probably the earliest is 11:00 am; maybe noon. Too late? The 4/8 is it? no 3/6?

I played 2/5 at the one table they had going today from about 3pm until 9pm (let me know if you were at my table). They did have a omaha hi low interest list about six deep when I left.

Nope, i left at about one - no 2/5 going then. Jcs, i won't play 3/6, but go ahead and see if you can get it going this weekend.

re: setting up an O8 game. On Sunday, they don't have a full dealer pool until noon (?), though I'm not sure of the exact time.

Obviously a new table can't be created until that time. But it'd be helpful if there was already a decent list ready to go.

It'd be smart to have the lsit going before the main batch of dealers get there at noon. This way floor can grab a competant dealer for a game thats never been spread yet at Hollywood (as far as I know of).

Enough struggled with 1/2 NL for the first couple months, I can only imagine how horrific it could turn out with one of the really inexperienced dealers.

Nice playing with you guys.

That's been the case - the reduced disruption from fewer dealer changes was nice.
