Agree and disagree. Agree, most (def not all) poker dealers are good, and some are very good. Definitely don't have enough solid poker dealers for tourneys. Room is very solid. Floor/mgmt is OK, certainly not great, IMO.
Disagree on the competition angle. WIth the opening of the Cincy casino, and I assume fairly soon thereafter the Columbus casino, the live poker player pool in the area will be greatly diluted.
At this point, most players from central Ohio, central Indiana, and northern KY play at Hollywood. (to a lesser extent, some play at Horseshoe SI). When CIncy opens, the Cincy and central Ohio players will move to the closest casino. (opinion based on my informal survey and common sense.) Thus, the Hollywood poker room will have much less traffic, which will result in a decrease in the number of tables and players. The smaller the player pool, the sooner the sharks take all the money and kill the room.
So, would disagree that the competiton is good for Hollywood, because the Cincy casino dilutes the player pool, which leads to less players in the room, which leads to fewer tables and less good action.
