At the casino today the unofficial word, but from a good source, was that there will be a summer series tourney series Aug 1-Aug 10.

Still no wi-fi in the poker room. Pretty pathetic.

Can anyone who still goes here post the schedule? I didn't see it on their website yet or any other website for that matter... Thanks!

It's a sadness this poker room has gone so downhill so fast; it is pathetic; especially considering what a top poker room it was 4 yrs ago; would not walk across the street to play a game here..jmho..gl

Is it a surprise? Bad middle management + bad (or, even, nonexistent) upper management. By middle management I don't mean the floor folks, btw. Most were excellent, some (who happened to rise above) were simply awful.

Most of the floor folks were great, but they had no swing. Casino is, with purpose, going the way of Rising Star. They'll have a few tables for conventioneers, but cannot compete.

I have seen the schedule. They have some nice events including an ante only event. Also, the juice is capped at 11% across the board apparently.

Just heard that Hollywood is going to a $5 rake from 5am to 5pm during the month of August.

Too little, too late. It's not even worth the extra gas. The people making decisions there really, really do not get it. But that's ok, we have a shiny new casino to play in.

Here is the schedule. 1st weekend deepstack is $345, ME is $375 (also a deepstack). It looks like no guarantees on any events. No rake breakdown on the schedule.

Event #4, #11 and #14 have some type of guarantee.

I usually play the first event as that usually brings in the most people. But with the Main only being $30 more, I may hold out and just play the Main. Should be fun!

Ante-Only and Limit events sounds tempting too.

That is correct, events 4 & 11 are just their regular Wed. night(4) & Sun. morning (11) $150 buy-in 10k MTTs. Event 14 has ended most of their series for the last couple of years, same as the last Sunday of the month 11:15am, $300 25k.

My original "no guarantees" comment was directed towards event 1 which has had at least 200k guarantee the past couple of years, or the ME in the Spring series.

How I remember those good old days. They probably want to get a feel for how the new Cincy Casino is going to effect their turnout.

I went down today and again saw how things had fallen. I thought about playing the 10K guaranteed at 11:15 but couldn't make it in time. I got to the room at about 12:30 and no cash games at all going yet. There were about 3 people on the 3/6 list and 5 on the 1-2 NL list, 2 of whom were in the tourney. Finally had enough guys to start up a 1-2 table at about 12:45 or so. They didn't get a 3/6 game going until about 1:30. Just those 2 cash tables for a long time.

As for the tournament, had only 65 entries. I remember plenty of times when double that amount was considered on the low end of average for those. Very disappointing.

The tournament's $125+25, so they need 10,000/125=80 players to make their full vig. At 67 players (10,000)/150, there's no true overlay, it just means the house isn't making any money and that your entire $150 buy-in is going to the prize pool. Once you get below 67 players, there's a true overlay.

I wonder if the "suits" will cut back the tables again from the (19?) to 8 or 10?

They do hate to "waste" valuable floor space I hear.

Given the sad state of poker in lawrenceburg......any estimates on turnout for the first $345 deepst event and the main? Wow I remember when they couldn't handle the turnout for the deep stack.....trying to figure out if it is worth the drive. Last one in spring had in the mid 600. Will it be even less this time?

3 years ago, you had to wait around 2 hours to just get registered the day of the tournament (deep stack). Crazy how things change.

With the WSOP circuit coming to Cincinnati in September I imagine they'll be some people who decide to sit this one out and wait for that instead. If they got 600 last time my guess is they'll get 4 or 500 this time. I have no idea about the main. I tried looking for results online from the last one and couldn't find anything.

Yes, pauly, L'burg is sad these days, but tourneys seem to keep drawing people. Guesstimate is that it will be around 400 for reasons Tom cites. Will be shooting a couple of bullets.
