@duke

I had a sample of around 600 hours for +17 an hour and now have a sample of around 200 hrs for +24 an hour. Sample size in 1/3 game is not big but I recognize a lot of the people in the game and have played with them before. I haven't played in the PLO game in at least 1.5 years so do not know anything about it.

I do agree that the 1/2 does seem to be nittier than other 1/2 games but unbeatable rake? not even close.

That's not a big sample size

What does recognizing people have to do with anything

It's not a small sample size either. i'ts near impossible to get an accurate sample size live. Even 4000 hours is only around 100k hands if that. By recognize I mean I have played with them many times before at 1/2. They are not good.

The one advantage to the 1/2 game being nitty is that people put up 0 resistance in isolating the massive fish when they are at the table. Its almost just a matter of time until you stack them.

Fwiw I never said the game was unbeatable

You definitely have to be very good to beat it, though. And 10bb+ WR is going to be very very difficult

The game is beatable, but just boring and not as profitable as playing elsewhere. I don't think there should ever an unbeatable 1/2 game on the planet because the play is so bad. But why play to win small pots here when you can go to AC and have people moving all in with top pair on a 4 flush board.

I think the addition of the 1/3 game here hurt the 1/2, because a lot of the more active players switched to 1/3. So all the super NITs no longer spazz out from having to deal with them.

How many runners do the daily 6:30PM tournaments get?

Thinking about going tonight, but wondering whether its completely worthless. I usually play tournaments at Parx, but they have no Friday tourneys.

Do you guys think the $1/3 games will be weak next week since Parx is doing the $30,000 give away all week? Was planning on coming a couple days next week unless it's going to be dead.

Harrah's will also be giving away money on certain days next week.

I think people will continue to play where they play.

I may go to Parx once or twice...If Parx had $1/$3 it might be different.

I agree people play where they play. Most rec players do not chase a promotions, probably the moderately successful pro or semi pro chases those.

A lot of players play at both places on a regular basis. I don't think there has been some massive switch over.

Plus, when players get banned at one or the other, they have an alternative.

Wsop just released it's next season's circuit schedule. Nothing from Harrah's Chester is even on it. Granted, it does say that stops could be added, but that has to be a conscious decision they made after the turnout of the last one there, or maybe just the climate of the place in general.... It really sucks for us Northeasterners to because this was a place we didn't have to travel that far too

Wouldn't it make more sense to do the North Eastern event at Bally's WWW in AC?

I see the Wednesday night PLO tourney is off the July schedule. I love PLO, but they ruined tourney by cutting off rebuys at level 3 and stopping the donators from inflating the prize pool.

They replaced the PLO with a survivor tourney with a huge surprise; low rake. OMG!!!!!

$75 entry, with 1 in 8 cashing for $500. If I figure correct, it is a 16.66% rake. I prefer to play at Delaware Park, but I'll need to check is one out.

I just hope they fix the re-entry period.

I am actually pretty impressed with the July schedule, as long as people show up to play.

The $75 survivor looks cool. I wonder how many ppl will play in the PPO events

I completely understand their reasons for cutting off rebuys at level 3. Poker room is running those small tournaments to attract cash game players. When players buy-in for 3-4 times and thus stick around in the tournament longer plus might run out of $$$ to play cash after, that hurts the room as those players never get to the cash games.

the wednesday survivor tourneys are better value than the friday survivor tournaments fwiw.

don't see anything about the hours bonuses continuing. has anyone heard anything?

Planning on playing at least the first event of the Philly Poker Open at the end of July. Anyone care to share their thoughts on past versions? Well run?

Did you just use the words "well run" when talking about Harrah's Chester?

LOLOLOLOLOLOL

To be more specific... in the past they have cancelled "guaranteed" tourneys when they didn't get enough entries, or they will raffle off "free" seats to cash players and take the buy ins from the bad beat jackpot.

Does that answer your question?

I am thinking about playing in the $75 survivor tournament tonight. I was just wondering if anybody has any idea how many people usually play in these kind of midweek tournaments? Like I would much rather play if the field is 80 & 10 get paid than if the field is 27 & 3 get paid

I just competed in the survivor tourney and was dismayed when I was informed that instead of paying 1 out of 8 they paid 1 out of 9. Legally they have the right to misrepresent the price for playing in a tournament due to the agreement all runners must sign to play but it still does not make it right. This is not the first incident where Harrahs did this (not honoring guaranteed prize money). Maybe I am being nitty but for those of us who play alot and those who play for a living this is not right nor should it be acceptable.

Read my reply 3 posts above yours. Drive to Parx or AC if you want to play a tournament. Chester is ok for cash if you forget about all the money they steal from the bad beat, but not for tourneys

Harrah's 1/3 is probably the most profitable game that I've ever played. Can't speak for the 1/2 or 2/5. Since Parx now has the bbj I go to Harrah's for free drinks and same rake.
